This is a list of roles.

  • Absorber - passively and reflexively copies all active abilities that target it.
  • Actor - can only vote if the vote is a hammer.
  • Alarmist - targets a player at Night; if someone else attempts to recruit that player that Night, the recruitment will fail.
  • Arsonist - a Serial Killer with a unique kill method: fire.
  • Ascetic - immune to all actions at Night except kills.
  • Babysitter - can target a player at Night to protect them; however, if Babysitter is killed that night, both the Babysitter and its target will die.
  • Banker - may choose to bribe a player each night.
  • Beholder - sees whatever their target saw during the night, and gets a report in the morning.
  • Beloved Princess - upon death, causes the next Day phase to be skipped.
  • Bodyguard - can target a player at Night to protect them.
  • Bomb - kills their killer when killed at Night.
  • Bookie - aims to guess the following day's elimination.
  • Bulletproof - a passive role that allows a player to avoid being killed at Night.
  • Bus Driver - can choose to switch two players each night; thus, any night action performed on a switched player will affect the other player targeted by the Bus Driver.
  • Captain - can choose what other roles in the game will do during the night, but those roles have an option to 'obey or disobey' his orders.
  • Commuter - "leaves Town" each Night, thus making them ineligible to be targeted by Night actions.
  • Condemnee - is the target of a Condemner, who wins if the Condemnee is eliminated.
  • Condemner - a third-party role whose win condition is to get a specific person (the Condemnee) eliminated.
  • Cop - has the ability to investigate players at Night to discern their alignment.
  • Coroner - can target a dead player to discern information about them, typically serving as a counter to No Reveal mechanics.
  • CPR Doctor - protects its target from a single kill at Night, but if the patient is not actually saved from a kill by this protection, the CPR Doctor will kill its patient.
  • Cultist - a player that has been recruited into a Cult by a Cult Leader.
  • Deathproof - cannot be killed or eliminated.
  • Deprogrammer - can revert Cultists to their original alignment.
  • Deputy - become an ordinary Cop after the Cop has died.
  • Detective - determines whether a player has killed another player, either on the night it is used or on a previous night.
  • Developer - gains a new passive role with every Night.
  • Direwolf - combination godfather and roleblocker.
  • Doctor - targets a player at Night to protect that player from a single kill made during that Night.
  • Doomed
  • Doublevoter - allows the player to cast the equivalent of two votes.
  • Dreaming God - possesses a list of many flavor names for one-shot abilities, and must compulsively choose one ability to use.
  • Enabler - must stay alive to allow another player to use their abilities.
  • Encryptor - allows people who can converse with it to talk during the Day phase.
  • Exploder
  • Faith Healer - a Doctor with a 50% chance of success.
  • Firefighter - protects against fire-based kills.
  • Fisherman - every night may "fish" for a particular item.
  • Flagbearer - causes its faction to automatically lose the game when eliminated.
  • Follower - can target a player at Night and learn what form of action they took that Night (investigation, protection, killing, etc), but not who they targeted.
  • Forensic Investigator - can target a dead player to learn the names of everyone who targeted that dead player since the beginning of the game.
  • Framer - may choose to frame a player during the night, causing that target to investigate as Guilty (or whichever result is unfavorable) to Cops.
  • Friendly Neighbor - can target a player at Night to tell them that they are Town.
  • Fruit Vendor - may hand out fruit to a player at night.
  • Gladiator - can challenge a player to a two-player elimination choice.
  • Godfather - investigates as Innocent (or some other favorable result) to Cops, regardless of their actual alignment.
  • Goo - selectively remove the powers, alignment, and lives of any role that targets it.
  • Governor - can stop an elimination.
  • Grand Vizier - has a random power each night.
  • Guard - knows who their King is, but otherwise has no other powers or information.
  • Gunsmith - can target a player at Night to learn if they have a gun in flavor.
  • Hated - requires one less vote than normal to eliminate.
  • Hero - passively kills any player who overrides the normal elimination mechanics to eliminate the Hero
  • Hider - flavourfully "hides behind" the target of their night choice
  • Hooker - chooses one player per Night to block from performing his or her night action.
  • Huntsman - guards a player, and then dies along with an attacker who tries to kill that player in the night.
  • Informed- a player who is given additional information about the setup at the start of the game (in the Role PM), most commonly the identity of another townie or the existence of a particular power role.
  • Innocent Child - a player who can be mod-confirmed as Town-aligned.
  • Inquisitor - a self-aligned role with aspects of both the Serial Killer and the Cult Leader.
  • Inventor - can give out various gadgets to other players.
  • Jack-of-all-trades - a role with several one-shot night abilities - typically abilities centered around investigating, protecting and killing.
  • Jailkeeper - protects its target from kills, but also Roleblocks its target.
  • Janitor - "cleans up the body" after its kill, thus preventing players from learning anything about the player when they flip.
  • Jester - wins when they are eliminated.
  • Judas - when it should die (either by elimination or other kill) it stays alive and converts to the Mafia's side.
  • King - plays a central role in Royal Mafia.
  • Lawyer - may choose to protect a player from investigations during the night, causing that target to investigate as Innocent (or whichever result is most favorable) to Cops.
  • Lie Detector - each Night sends the Moderator a post or statement made by another player, and receives a response as to whether that other player was telling the truth when they made that post.
  • Loved - is harder to eliminate, requiring one additional vote.
  • Lover - is linked to another player, and dies if that player dies.
  • Mafia - the informed minority from which the game is named.
  • Mailman - can send a message to other players at Night, via the moderator.
  • Mason - a group of players who can speak to each other privately and know that everyone in their group is not a member of the Mafia.
  • Miller - passively returns an unfavorable result (i.e. Guilty) if investigated by a Cop.
  • Motion Detector - can target a player at Night and learn if any actions were performed by or on that player, but not what the actions were or who else they involved.
  • Motivator - can target a player at Night to allow them to use an extra action during the following Night.
  • Multiple User Personality - can target a player at night and randomly do a one-shot night abilities to its target.
  • Named Townie - has no real abilities, but differs from a normal Vanilla Townie in the sense it has a different name from an actual Vanilla Townie.
  • Neapolitan - can check one player per night to see whether or not they are a Vanilla Townie.
  • Neighbor - players that can speak to each other (with no guarantee made of any Neighbor's alignment.)
  • Neighborizer - can target other players at Night to recruit them into a Neighborhood.
  • Nexus (Role) - passively redirects players who target it to a random other player.
  • Normaliser - can target another player at night to change their power, turning them into the nearest Normal role equivalent.
  • Nurse - a Backup Doctor.
  • Oracle - can ask the moderator about general information regarding the setup.
  • Paranoid Gun Owner - passively (and involuntarily) kills anyone who targets it during the Night.
  • Parity Cop - can investigate other players at night to determine which faction they belong to.
  • Phantom Queen - while alive all other power-roles become haunting.
  • Poison Doctor - prevents players from being affected by poison.
  • Poisoner - can target a player to kill them.
  • Priest - cannot cast a hammer vote.
  • Priest (Werewolf Online) - can throw holy water on another player.
  • Prince - cannot be eliminated.
  • Psychologist - determines a player's ability to kill.
