The ScumDeck is an attempt to make an accessible version of Greater Idea Mafia (created at the UK '13 Easter meet by ChannelDelibird), and can be made with regular deck of playing cards and a sharpie, for use in meatworld.

Greater Idea Mafia

The intended setup is a goofy semi-open game. Balance is not likely, but the games aren't so serious, and are a lot of fun. Each player draws two random cards from the deck and chooses one to be their role. The remaining card is revealed at the start of Day 1 - this information is usually sufficient to replace the random vote stage. Night 0 is a meet-and-greet for mafia and masons.

If the game is played with no mod, the first player to be lynched becomes mod and has the immediate duty of checking that anti-town roles exist in the game. If not, the game is abandoned. (Optionally, for fun, if the town reaches consensus on Day 1 that no anti-town roles exist they win a "glorious victory" - but if they are wrong, the anti-town roles win.) With a mod, the check should be performed Night 0.

The spare cards exist incase a card becomes crumpled and recognisable. It should be pointed out that cards with a duplicate are easier to fakeclaim. Claiming or hinting the original card's colour/suit is forbidden.

Role Notes

  • No roles can self-target.
  • Cop: I play that cops return "guilty" or "not guilty", so they can detect serial killers.
  • Reflexively Disabling Serial Killer: This role disables players which target it, effective for future nights. If a role is disabled, its ability will cease to work without the player being explicitly told. Town roles will become effectively vanilla, mafia roles will become effectively a goon. Disabled investigation roles receive "no result" as if blocked by a roleblocker.
  • Nymphomaniac: Must target a player on night 1. If not blocked, the two players become lovers. The targeted player does not know they are lovers with the nymphomaniac; there is no night-talk.
  • Silencer: The targeted player cannot speak the following day, at penalty of modkill.
  • Hider: I play that if the target is successful, the hider is protected if the target is town, and is killed if the target is mafia (but can be protected from this kill.)
