A Flavorless Game is essentially an expanded version of a Normal Game, allowing more roles and modifiers to be used. It is a subset of the current Theme Games that excludes flavor and special mechanics. Notable additions to Flavorless Games that are not allowed in Normal Games include: Voyeurs, Followers, Reporters, Commuters, Bus Drivers, Cults, Survivors, Lynchers, Jesters, moderator deception, and hydra accounts.

Requirements

Below are the requirements for making a Flavorless Game:

  1. The game must be flavorless. Any flavor that you do use must be original and carry no weight/have no bearing on the game whatsoever (e.g. one should not be able to determine that you are lying about being a Cop because your flavor name doesn't match the role).
  2. The game must not have any special/original mechanics.
  3. The game must not have any roles or modifiers that are not explicitly approved.
  4. The game must not have any alternate win conditions, post restrictions, direct moderator influence, moderator lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated (e.g. not telling a Cop they are Insane is acceptable; telling a PGO that they are a Reflexive Doctor is not).
  5. Similarly with Large Theme Games, the moderator must publicly answer the question (yes/no): "Is it possible your game contains Cults, Jesters, action redirection, or moderator deception?"
  6. Unlike Normal Games, no rule-breaks are permitted for Flavorless Games.
