Status: Experimental Normal

A Goon Cop is a role that can learn if their target is a Mafia Goon or not.

Normal version

This role is on the Experimental Role List, and is currently allowed in Complex Normal games.

A Goon Cop investigates a player to determine whether or not they are a Mafia Goon (or vanilla Werewolf). A Mafia Goon will return a result of "target is a Mafia Goon"; other players will give a result of "target is not a Mafia Goon". If the action fails (e.g. due to a roleblocker), the result will be "Your action failed, and you did not receive a result".

Variations

A Neapolitan, a role similar to a Goon Cop, looks for Vanilla Townies.

Goon Cops may instead look for any Vanilla non-town player.

Sample Role PMs

The sample Role PM for "Goon Cop" describes the action as follows:

  • As a targeted action: you will learn whether or not that player is a Mafia Goon. (edit)

Example (simplest form)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Goon Cop.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn whether or not that player is a Mafia Goon.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Example (with modifiers)

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Loud Goon Cop.

  • Once in the game at Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn whether or not that player is a Mafia Goon. Your target will learn that you targeted them (but not what action you targeted them with).
