A Gravedigger is a role that shows up as targeting all players who died during the Night with a factional nightkill to investigative roles. They are a Miller to action investigators such as a Tracker.
Standard version
A Gravedigger will be seen targeting any players that died that Night with a factional nightkill. Gravediggers do not actually passively target players, they only fool action investigators with fake results.
For example:
A Tracker tracking a Gravedigger will track them to any players that died that Night.
A Watcher watching someone who died that Night will see the Gravedigger targeting them.
A Follower following a Gravedigger will see that the Gravedigger used a Kill action.
An Observer observing someone who died that Night will see that they were targeted by a Kill action.
A Role Watcher role watching someone who died that Night will see a Gravedigger targeting them.
A Motion Detector detecting a Gravedigger on a night someone died will sense motion.
Variations
A Gravedigger may produce a fake Visitor action instead to avoid fooling Followers and Observers.
A Gravedigger may also only appear to target the target of a single team's factional nightkill.
Sample Role PMs
The standardized Role PM for "Gravedigger" describes the passive ability as follows:
- As an unmodified passive ability:
You are seen as targeting players who died that night with the factional kill by Tracker-like and Watcher-like roles.
(edit)
- As a passive ability with a modifier:
You are seen as targeting players who died that night with the factional kill by Tracker-like and Watcher-like roles the nth time you are investigated by a Tracker-like or Watcher-like role OR on day n.
(edit)
Example (unmodified)
Welcome to game! You are a Town Gravedigger.
You are seen as targeting players who died that night with the factional kill by Tracker-like and Watcher-like roles.
You have no active abilities.
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
Example (modified)
