Modifier Cop

A Modifier Cop is an investigative role that learns the modifiers that apply to a player's role. There is no indication of the target's alignment or underlying role. If an unmodified role is investigated (such as a Vanilla Townie), they return "No Modifiers".

Normal version

This role is on the Experimental Role List, and is currently allowed in Complex Normal games.

A Modifier Cop will learn what modifiers apply to the target. For example, a Modifier Cop investigating a Loyal Doctor will be returned "Loyal". In the case of an X-Shot role, the Modifier Cop would be told how many shots the role started with, not how many shots currently remain or what role is affected by X-Shot.

Variations

A Role Cop learns roles and not just modifiers.

Welcome to game! You are a Town Modifier Cop.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn what modifiers apply to that player's role (but not their alignment or underlying role).

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Example (with modifiers)

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Loud Modifier Cop.

You have the following active ability:

  • Once in the game at Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn what modifiers apply to that player's role (but not their alignment or underlying role). Your target will learn that you targeted them (but not what action you targeted them with).

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
