Matrix 14 is a Setup which takes the Newbie Setup, Matrix 6 to a new dimension. It's designed for 13 players, there are quite a few possible Power Roles in it contains a chance for being in a Multiball game as well. Therefore, it's suitable as a "next step" for newer players but it can be played as a regular Semi-Open setup.

It has been tested, but further suggestions and notes are still appreciated.

The abilities of the Serial Killer has been modified after the first game run.


How does Matrix 14 work?

Each Setup contains 6 Vanilla Townies and 1 Mafia Goon.

The remaining 6 roles are determined by the following matrix.

  • Each Night you may target a player to be tracked, thus discovering who that player targeted in the same night phase. You will receive a Private Message from the moderator containing [Name(s)] or [None]. Should your tracking fail for any reason, you will receive a Message containing [No Result].


Even-Night Tracker

You are an Even-Night Tracker

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • Each even-Night (Night2, Night4, etc.) you may target a player to be tracked, thus discovering who that player targeted in the same night phase. You will receive a Private Message from the moderator containing [Name(s)] or [None]. Should your tracking fail for any reason, you will receive a Message containing [No Result].


Watcher

You are a Watcher

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • Each Night you may target a player to be watched, thus discovering who visited the targeted player during the same Night. Odd-Night Watcher

  • Each Odd-Night (Night1, Night3, etc.) you may target a player to be watched, thus discovering who visited the targeted player during the same Night. You will receive a Private Message from the moderator containing the names(s) of the visiting players. You will receive a Message containing [None] if no one visited your target. You will receive a Message containing [No Result] if your action fails for any reason.


Doctor

You are a Doctor

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • Each Night you may target a player to be protected, this will protect them from one kill for one Night. The targeted player is not informed that they were protected. You will not be informed if you protected the player from a kill. You can not target yourself.


Bodyguard

You are a Bodyguard

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • Each Night you may target a player. If the targeted player is supposed to get killed, you will die instead of your target. If your target is receiving two shots during the same night, both of you and your target dies. The targeted player is not informed that they were protected. You will not be informed if you protected the player from a kill.


Jailkeeper

You are a Jailkeeper

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • Each Night you may target a player who will be protected from one kill during that night. Also, your target will be unable to perform any (active) Night Action during the same Night. You will not be informed whether you protected the player from a kill or about the (possible) Night Actions your target were to perform.


1-Shot Vigilante

You are a 1-Shot Vigilante

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • At one Night of your choice you may target a player to kill.


Universal Backup

You are a Universal Backup

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • You get the abilities of the first Power Role who dies in the game.


Neighbourizer

You are a Neighbourizer

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • You may create a Neighbourhood with another players in the game. Each Night you can target a player who will join your Neighbourhood. Players who are in the Neighbourhood have access to a quicktopic thread. You and the other members of the Neighbourhood may use the quicktopic any time.


2-Shot Commuter

You are a 2-Shot Commuter

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • At two Night of your choice, you may elect to "commute", which will render you immune to all actions on that night.


Fruit Vendor

You are a Fruit Vendor

Win Conditions:

  • You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Abilities:

  • Each Night you may target a player in the game and send them a piece of fruit. The fruit itself does nothing. Your targets will not get informed about the sender of the fruit.


Mafia Goon – in Setups (2) and (12)

  • Roleblock: At one Night of your choice, you can Roleblock a player who will be unable to perform any (active) Night Actions during that Night.
  • Strongman: At one Night of your choice if you take the factional kill, it can not be prevented by any kind of protection or jailing.
  • Ninja: At one Night of your choice if you perform the factional kill, it will bypass Trackers and Watchers.
  • You must announce using any of your abilities alongside your kill.
  • You can not use more than one of your abilities at the same Night.


Serial Killer

You are a Serial Killer

Win Conditions:

  • You win if only you are alive, or if nothing can prevent the same.

Abilities:

  • Once per Night you may target a player, thus killing them.
  • Each Night you can choose whether you want to be Bulletproof or Investigation Immune. You can't be both of them at the same Night, but you can choose your ability for each Night separately via PM-ing the Mod.
  • Bulletproof: any Nightkill which targets you (at the same Night) is ignored. You are not informed whether anyone tried to kill you or not.
  • Ivestigation Immunity: if you are investigated by a Cop, they will get a result of [Not Guilty].
