Macho is a role modifier that prevents players from being protected from kills in any way.

The role was first developed as a way to neutralise Follow the Cop strategies that exist in Cop/Doctor set-ups, preventing the Cop from gaining the Doctor's protection. Macho Cop is still the most common Macho role, but other roles have used it for balance and design reasons.

Normal version

This role is allowed in Simple Normal games.

This passive role is considered Normal on mafiascum.net. It negates the effects of any roles that would prevent it from death such as a Doctor or Bodyguard protecting it, although both would still be seen as having visited a Macho role. Macho uniquely can be considered to be a role modifier in Simple Normal games, allowing you to have roles like Macho Cop in a Simple Normal game.

An X-shot Macho player cannot be protected from kills until X attempts to protect them from kills.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Macho" describes the passive ability as follows:

  • As an unmodified passive ability: You cannot be protected from kills that target you. (edit)
  • As a passive ability with a modifier: You cannot be protected from the nth kill that targets you OR kills that target you on day n. (edit)

Example (unmodified)

Welcome to game! You are a Macho Townie.

You cannot be protected from kills that target you.

You have no active abilities.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (modified)

Welcome to game! You are an Odd Night Macho Townie.

You cannot be protected from kills that target you during odd-numbered Nights.

You have no active abilities.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
