I started playing mafia in Feb of 2015 on a site called Personality Cafe. I was terrible when I started but it was not all bad. In my experience I have had some success with guessing setups - I guessed the number of T's rolled in my very first game in which I was a replacement in. I guessed the T's rolled on day 3. I was also Mod-Killed that game for copy pasting my flavor role. I was under the assumption that copy pasting was different than quoting. The rules state you are not allowed to quote your role PM and said nothing of copy pasting so I copy pasted it and got mod killed for it. I have since played on 6 other sites besides MS and PerC. I have learned that every site has their own way of doing things and often times there are slight variations in the way the game is played. Its really all the same game though. If you are Town you try to lynch Scum. If you are Scum you try not to get lynched.

When I first started playing I was always the top poster. I posted so much that it choked the game. After hearing multiple times not to do that I finally decided that it was best that I let the game breathe before I felt the need to post my thoughts.
== About Me ==

I have had many people tell me they do not follow my reasoning. For a time I tried to explain myself more elaborately in hopes that people would understand, but it seemed the harder I tried to do that the less understood I was.
I started playing on a site called Personality Cafe. In my first game, I subbed-in in Feb of 2015. I have played in at least 10 sites. I originally had the goal of playing on every site that played Mafia. That dream died when I found out there were over 900 sites that play this game. I have played in the Mafia Championships on Mafia Univers twice. My ideal length of day and night is 72/24, but I have not come across any sites that play that length for either the full game or with any kind of regularity.

I have gotten lazy in my way of playing. I don't often say everything that is on my mind regarding the game, but reduce it to a few things that I feel are of immediate concern.
I have learned that experience is really nice to have to fall back on. Even when you don't see how your experience is helping, if you are anything like me, someone who is very prone to messing things up, it shows its merits a few times in most games. I have been able to navigate who I am as a player and know where I stand on a few issues that are somewhat controversial. I also feel that experience is good to fall back on for observational tells from Town and Scum. Sometimes you just notice something and note the alignment of the player. And sometimes it happens again, which leads to a tell.

As Town I am a decent Scum hunter and a leader - my Town game, if you have played with me before, is unmistakable. I do, however, try to match my Scum game to my Town game which is an ever evolving process.
I have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness that occurs in ~.3% of the population called Schizoaffective - Disorder Bipolar Type variant. There is a lot of stigma surrounding mental illness in the world. It's no different than a broken limb - it's a body part that needs attending to - it just happens to be the brain. I am not ashamed of this because, after all, I have no control over it. I think telling you this will allow you to see how/why I seem to be a bit odd at times. I also tell you this in case you think something is wrong with you and you don't want to get help. Getting help is the first step towards solving a problem that doesn't self resolve. If you need help, please seek help.

LicketyQuickety is the type of player who, if I was scum, would terrify me because of the potential to nail scum time and time again. I might be one of the few to see it, but I see it all the same. ~mastin2

I hate that lickety is so on point even though I genuinely don't get him half the time. He's got half the scum team down. ~Elbirn (Scumchat)
I'm a weird person. That comes out in how I play Mafia as well.

LQ was such an idiot when he first started playing on this site. Now that he's settled in he's pretty good. That's a problem. ~Klingoncelt (Scumchat)

The more someone tries to Scum hunt me, the more I look like I am Town, generally speaking.

I had previously had all my records from all my games on all sites listed and documented, but I must have not saved the edit so they are not there. Sorry about that, but I can't be bothered to do all that work again; the 'All Completed Mafia Games Across All Sites' will have to suffice for now.
I have gotten lazy in my way of playing. I don't often say everything that is on my mind regarding the game, but reduce it to a few things that I feel are of immediate concern.

Will update... Sometime.
As Town, I am an okay Scum hunter and a leader. My Town game is unmistakable. I do, however, try to match my Scum game to my Town game which is an ever-evolving process.

I have felt my style of play is very much a power player. I post a lot, but I try to keep giving different or unique insights into what is going on in the game. I generally do have some unique insights into the motivation of players and I sometimes say things that other people do not agree with the significance of what I have said.

Just before I died I had Fro99er as mafia and Cho AKA Marquis as mafia. Fro99er was the Town Cop that game and Marquis was in fact mafia. I think the last thing I said in the thread before my hammer was "Cho choked."

|-
| [http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=62114= Mini 1682] || Loss || Lynched Day 1 || style="text-align: left;" | I never made a reads list this game. I was under the assumption that I was going to get lynched so I did what I could by making a case against a player that was relatively new like myself and basically said "look at this person if flip today." Turns out I was right about that person being scum. That person survived until the day before Lylo and survived until they were lynched day 5.

| [http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=62819= Newbie 1635] || Win || Survived || style="text-align: left;" | My reads were all over the place this game and for good reason. The scum that was lynched Day 1 had a total of only 12 posts. I was not on the wagon because someone claimed intent and then someone else quick hammered. The other Scum slot was replaced twice. The first out of the three for the second mafia member had a whopping 2 posts. The next person to take the slot had 29 posts and it was all pretty much content. The only reason that they were lynched day two is because they dropped and didn't even submit a NK. The third to take the slot never even caught up with the game. Thankfully I was on scums wagon the second day.
|-
| [http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=62976= Newbie 1638] || Win || Survived || style="text-align: left;" | My reads were very so-so this game. On the one hand, all the Scum were in my Scumreads pool, but I got something pretty wrong. I had either player A and player Y were the Scum team or player B and player Z were the Scum Team when the actual Scum team were players A and B while players Y and Z were the PT. So I guess my reads were just unnecessarily complex this game. I also wasn't able to put 2 and 2 together after N2 when the unCCed Doc didn't die that night meaning that the unCCed Doc was actually Scum of course. I need to start using Occam's Razor more.
|-
| [http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=63134= Mini 1710: A Midnight Sun] || Loss || Killed Day 4 || style="text-align: left;" | My reads were... weird this game. Someone said I had seriously voted for the entire Scum team Day 1. Those reads changed. I ended up having some weird reads on Scum but did have some good Town reads. I don't know what to think about how I played this game. Someone said I was the MVP of the game, but I think that could have been in jest. IDK, read the game and see for yourself. It was a good game so worth the read.

1. Be confident- Self-explanatory. People naturally gravitate toward confident people. When you show no weakness you are telling people you are right when others are wrong.

Ever wonder how the heck I get the weird reads I do? I'll tell you! It took me a while to get a feel for how I naturally want to read people. I realized relatively quickly that I don't read people based on logic most of the time. I have discovered that my natural way to read people is by reading into their psyche. I already know how to twist a knife into people so they get really uncomfortable, that's not the problem. The problem is learning how to interpret the signs that I am wearing the Scum down and then interpreting that into a read. The way I read people largely has to do with that fact that Scum give off a very specific vibe when they are feeling pressured. What I try to do is put people through psychological distress in order to get a read out of them. Its much akin to a criminal being interrogated and feeling the pressure to confess. This way of reading people is not the best way to read people, but it is the best thing I have right now. Town can very well feel a similar pressure that a Scum might, but often times their reactions are different. I aim to perfect this type of reading people to be so proficient at it that I will be able to tell when anyone is lying.

About Me

I started playing on a site called Personality Cafe. In my first game, I subbed-in in Feb of 2015. I have played in at least 10 sites. I originally had the goal of playing on every site that played Mafia. That dream died when I found out there were over 900 sites that play this game. I have played in the Mafia Championships on Mafia Univers twice. My ideal length of day and night is 72/24, but I have not come across any sites that play that length for either the full game or with any kind of regularity.

I get Eliminated early as both alignments a lot. I do however have a fairly good record if I make it to end-game.

Style Of play

I'm a weird person. That comes out in how I play Mafia as well.

I have had many people tell me they do not follow my reasoning. I have tried explaining myself more thoroughly and that seems to work better.

The more someone tries to Scum hunt me, the more I look like I am Town, generally speaking.

I have gotten lazy in my way of playing. I don't often say everything that is on my mind regarding the game, but reduce it to a few things that I feel are of immediate concern.

As Town, I am an okay Scum hunter and a leader. My Town game is unmistakable. I do, however, try to match my Scum game to my Town game which is an ever-evolving process.

I have gotten more comfortable playing as Scum (which is an ongoing process).

I have felt my style of play is very much a power player. I post a lot, but I try to keep giving different or unique insights into what is going on in the game. I generally do have some unique insights into the motivation of players and I sometimes say things that other people do not agree with the significance of what I have said.
