Take the setup above. The Nurse could only begin protecting once the [[Doc]] dies, but since there is no Doc, the Nurse never can take advantage of this; likewise with the Deputy. The Miller would show as [[Guilty]] to [[investigation]]s, but since there is no [[Cop]], this is irrelevant. The Mafia are investigation immune, but again this makes no practical difference.
