==Mechanics==

On scumchat, Lyncher is almost always a five-player game, with 3 townies.
*One of the townies (but not the mafia) will be randomly designated the Condemner's target (or [[Condemnee]]), and will be known only to the Condemner.
*The Mafia wins when only he and one other player are alive.
*The Condemner wins, and the game ends with no other winners, if the town eliminates the Condemnee, when the Condemner is still alive.
*The Town wins when both the Mafia and Condemner are dead, or when the Mafia is dead, and the Condemnee has been killed at night.
*Typically the game only ends in a [[Draw]] when the Condemner and the Condemnee are the last two people alive.
*The game starts with day, which then alternates with night.
*During the day, a simple majority is needed to eliminate or not eliminate. However, typically (especially on scumchat) the town is not allowed to vote to eliminate no one.
*During the night, the Mafia makes a kill choice if he is still alive. If not, nothing occurs, and day follows immediately.
*The moderator reveals the role of every player who dies, but not whether a player was the Condemnee. (The obvious exception is if the Condemnee is eliminated when the Condemner is still alive, as this ends the game.)
*If the Condemnee is killed in the night, the Condemner becomes a Townie and wins with the town. Note that the moderator does not reveal whether the Condemner has become a Townie.

Condemner Mafia is an open setup game devised by mathcam. It's particularly popular on scumchat.

Roles

  • 1 Mafia Goon
  • 1 Condemner
  • X Vanilla Townies (where X>1)

Mechanics

  • One of the townies (but not the mafia) will be randomly designated the Condemner's target (or Condemnee), and will be known only to the Condemner.
  • The Mafia wins when only he and one other player are alive.
  • The Condemner wins, and the game ends with no other winners, if the town eliminates the Condemnee, when the Condemner is still alive.
  • The Town wins when both the Mafia and Condemner are dead, or when the Mafia is dead, and the Condemnee has been killed at night.
  • Typically the game only ends in a Draw when the Condemner and the Condemnee are the last two people alive.
  • The game starts with day, which then alternates with night.
  • During the day, a simple majority is needed to eliminate or not eliminate. However, typically (especially on scumchat) the town is not allowed to vote to eliminate no one.
  • During the night, the Mafia makes a kill choice if he is still alive. If not, nothing occurs, and day follows immediately.
  • The moderator reveals the role of every player who dies, but not whether a player was the Condemnee. (The obvious exception is if the Condemnee is eliminated when the Condemner is still alive, as this ends the game.)
  • If the Condemnee is killed in the night, the Condemner becomes a Townie and wins with the town. Note that the moderator does not reveal whether the Condemner has become a Townie.
