Brave is a role modifier that protects a player from kills if they target a non-town player.

Standard version

A Brave role is protected from kills if they target someone who isn't aligned with the Town. The Brave modifier cannot protect from a Juggernaut kill however.

Variations

Brave, like Weak, may care about if the target appears to be non-town instead of actually being non-town. This would make a Brave role protected from kills if they target a Town Miller but not a Mafia Godfather.



Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Brave" describes the modifier as follows:

  • As a modifier on a single ability: If you use this action on a player who is not aligned with the Town, you will be protected from kills that night. (edit)
  • As a modifier that affects all abilities: If you use an action on a player who is not aligned with the Town, you will be protected from kills that night. (edit)

Example (modifying a single ability)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Brave Jailkeeper.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night. If you use this action on a player who is not aligned with the Town, you will be protected from kills that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Example (affecting all abilities)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Brave Jack of All Trades Tracker Doctor.

If you use an action on a player who is not aligned with the Town, you will be protected from kills that night.

You have the following active abilities, but may use only one per Night:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who that player targeted that night. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
