The registration problem seems to have started on the 28th of June, as that is when the joining members drastically slowed, starting with http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7485 on the 28th of June and up until today the 9th of July with http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7621, that makes 136 attempts at registering with a lot of them failing, but I don't know how much as I assume a lot of them are not showing on the members list, including mine(I ''can'' log in). I imagine that there is much less actual people as a lot of them seem to be people trying different names to register as each attempt seemed to fail as far as they knew along with possible spam/bots.
You can delete member "Atheo" [http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7575] as that was my second attempt at creating an account.
Thanks again, hope you get it sorted soon as I can very well see it being an encumbrance.

Revision as of 23:00, 9 July 2007

That's really bad news about the View All function being such a resource hog. I think people found it really handy for scanning the thread, even though it broke once you got to ~20 pages or so. Better to kill it than to let the site keep going down, though.

Also, this is of relatively little importance but the test wiki was acting up just now. Possibly related, as it was throwing MySQL errors, but it worked fine for about 15 minutes, and is back now. If you want me to stop editing here to conserve CPU, just say the word.

Error message: Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/mithmojo/public_html/mafiascum/wiki/includes/Database.php on line 620

MafiaScum

whenever i go to log in, i get the following message:

Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

is this only affecting me, b/c i haven't seen anything in the Don't Panic wiki page concerning the site going down... yesterday, though, when i tried logging in, i got a message from bluehost saying the account had been suspended, and to contact the billing/support department ASAP...

i'll keep checking in here since this is the only connection i have to MafiaScum at this time...

P.S. I also can't log in correctly to edit this page, but that's a minor problem...

MafiaScum - Wiki

ok, i finally found the regular wiki URL, and it is as follows:

http://www.mafiascum.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl

in the Don't Panic section, mith writes the following:

November 20, 2006 - Deactivated again. I've disabled the forum while we look through the logs again. Might have to switch boxes. More later. -mith

i've referenced it here for anybody like me that found the Mafia Wiki Test, instead of the regular wiki...

also i fixed the not being able to log in by signing up, duh...

JEEP fixed it already. :P -- Mr. Flay 21:38, 19 June 2007 (MDT)

Account Problem

Posting here as I can't post as a Guest on the forums. Tried clearing cookies and using different browsers and computers.
Created this account on the 4th of July, got an e-mail telling me to wait for activation. Nothing has happened yet and newer accounts since mine have been activated.
Tried e-mailing mith and JEEP to no avail (spam filters?).
This is my account (does not appear on the members list).
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=7559
Hope someone is able to help me here, if not I would appreciate it if someone could cut and paste this message here into this thread [1].
Thank you,
Atheous

Edit: Quite a few other people seem to be having the same problem, "sam Cullen" "samCullen" "leech" "locke" "p3nguin" to name a few of the possibles. Maybe it is a general problem with registration.

Atheous has been activated. I don't think I got your e-mail, Atheous, when was it sent?
Which of the others need to be activated and which deleted (if any?) There does seem to be a registration problem. I'm looking into it today. Jeep 13:59, 9 July 2007 (MDT)
