Rules & Format

  • Contestants submit a song recorded within the time frame of a round and are expected to meet the set deadlines. The judge or judges will present all submissions, scores and feedback at the end of the round.
  • One or more contestants may be eliminated each round.
  • Contestants must state their username on the recording prior to singing, or include this as text within the description.
  • Each round may feature an unique theme and specific additional requirements. The song chosen/performance need to meet those requirements.
  • Submissions may only feature someone other than the contestant if it is a duet with one additional individual.
  • Instruments are allowed to be included but will not be judged.

Season 1

Season 1 took place between June 2020 and October 2020. There was an audition submission followed by 10 rounds of singing competition. Malkon05 acted as the sole judge. 12 contestants started off in the game. Mina was crowned the winner over fellow finalist toolenduso in a close 4-3 audience vote.

Audition

The audition round was a non-elimination round and a "Free for All" in terms of song choice.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso Faith - George Michael "There was a lot of passion in this recording. I recommend trying to do recordings without the echo-y sound through singsnap." 8 Safe
vizIIsto Imagine - John Lennon "You had a very good emotional connection with this song and I saw you shine through. I think you will benefit in the future from having something to reign in your timing a bit, but fabulous job." 7 Safe
Aristophanes Creep - Radiohead "Wow, great vocal control on this. I think really the only constructive criticism is to try practicing opening your mouth to help you reach those high notes and make those vowels crystal clear." 7 Safe
Flubbernugget Rainbow in the Dark - Dio "You have a mastery over your vocals and can do some pretty incredible things without losing the integrity of what it is you are singing. Only constructive criticism I want to add is occasionally there were a few moments towards the end you tended to go a little flat because the vocal range was SO HIGH." 8 Safe
Bellaphant Starving - Hailee Steinfeld "It's hard to understand what you are saying at some points, not because you aren't singing well, but because your microphone unfortunately makes it kind of muffled when you sing. But I can tell you have a fantastic voice." 7 Safe
Klick Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley "I think this song is in a bad key for your voice, because you have actually a really strong voice. Just practice opening your mouth more when getting up there to leave your voice to move and not constrict. Overall, very nice job!!!" 7 Safe
NoPowerOverMe The Gambler - Kenny Rogers "I think my constructive criticism for you would be to make sure to be on top of the pitch when singing. I think overall though, you have a good sense of who you are and it was a very enjoyable listen." 6 Safe
Haschel Cedricson Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby - Les Applegate "It's clear you have a very good editing program for this. Haha this brought a smile to my face. I have very little to critique on. Great job!!!" 8 Safe
T-Bone Sora Ni Utaeba - amazarashi "I enjoyed this entry and thought you had a lot of personality in this song which I really think is important when singing. Nice work, just work on breath support so you don't run out of steam if you do a song like this again!" 6 Safe
Davsto No Surprises - Radiohead "I appreciate you bringing an emotional depth to it while you sing. I loved your soft approach to this song, but would like to see you try something maybe in a lower range in the future, which I think will give you more support while you sing and help your voice show off that vocal majestry that I think you are capable of." 7 Safe
lilith2013 Reflection - Wilder & Zippel "You have an amazing soprano range voice. I especially loved how tender and perfectly placed the ending to this recording was. I think you have it in you to push yourself even more vocally. Try adding an inflection or adding a lift to give it the emotional depth that will just bring it to life." 8 Safe
Mina Hyperballad - Bjork "I think you had a really nice tone to your voice and it really fit this song well. Overall, I thought you sounded pretty great and you had good control, a few shaky moments, but I think that was just nerves. You are awesome and just remember this is fun and to just go for it." 7 Safe

R1/Rock

This round originally would've been a double elimination one, but one contestant withdrew.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield " I love the inflections you added to this song and how much you passion and power you put into this song. If you can take a little lift before hitting those high notes, that will help give you the breath support in order to hit those notes without straining your voice." 9 Safe
vizIIsto N/A N/A N/A Withdrew
Aristophanes Black Velvet - Alannah Myles "Such a great song for your voice and your styling. I can tell you took my advice to heart last week. Your vowels were so much less forced this week and overall this was just a delight. My one suggestion for you next week, is to work on your transitions from high to low notes." 9 Safe
Flubbernugget Chop Suey! By System of a Down "Your pitch was on, your passion and commitment came through. Only thing is that your run was a little rough in the middle which I think honestly you basically can fix by just turning moments like that into a slide in the future. You killed this and hopefully can see this as me pushing you to perfection that you are basically already at." 9.8 Safe
Bellaphant Alone - Heart "You nailed those upper notes, and you just slayed the emotion needed to do this song. The teensiest tiniest thing I could even possibly say is that the first time you went into the high note your voice seemed to strain a bit, but honestly? The second time you did it, you slayyyyyyyyyyyed, so you know how to correct this." 9.5 Safe
Klick Wonderwall - Oasis "Again I think some of those upper notes were hard for you. Try to be sure you keep your mouth open as much as possible to help reach them. Other than that? Pretty much flawless." 9 Safe
NoPowerOverMe Free Fallin - Tom Petty "I think you stepped out of your comfort zone to do this song and I very very very much appreciate that. You are great and you kept rhythm perfectly. I think my biggest advice for you when doing something like this would be to make sure to practice breathing techniques." 6.5 Eliminated
Haschel Cedricson Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N Roses " I actually enjoy how you turned this into a barbershop quartet. Your harmonies are pitch perfect. This song was a little on the short side, but I still thought what you did with it was pretty great." 8.7 Safe
T-Bone Hunger - Florence and the Machine "My recommendation is that if you choose to try to do that sort of vocal layering again would be to soften/quiet the background voices in order to let the forefront voice shine through as the main vocals. Your timing and breath support was MUCH better and I could tell you really worked at it." 7.5 Safe
Davsto There is a Light that Never Goes Out - The Smiths "You had great rhythm, great emotion, and really I feel took what I was saying last week to heart. I recommend just making sure to really stay on top of making sure you support that great voice with enough breath to stay on pitch. 8 Safe
lilith2013 Bring Me To Life - Evanescence "I think you had one or two minor entrances where you were just off ever so slightly rhythmically, but given that you weren't the rest of the song, I'm going to chop this up as a fluke. And GIRL YOU KILLED THAT LAST NOTE!!! AS SOMEONE WHO HAS TRIED AND FAILED TO HOLD IT YOU SLAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYED." 9.5 Safe
Mina Magic Man - Heart "This was WON DER FUL. There's so little to actually give you feedback on. This was basically everything I could have asked for in a rock song to be honest." 10 Winner

R2/Broadway

Mina, the previous round's winner, selected this from a list as the Round 2 theme. There was more discussion about which song choices were valid for the theme.

This round, the contestant that was eliminated was unable to submit a song.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso You'll Be Back - Hamilton "Your microphone does some wonky things with your voice. However, you clearly are like perfect on this song. I don't think you hit a note wrong or a beat wrong." 10 Winner
Aristophanes Memories - Cats "10/10 on costume choice. I think on the soft parts you were just lovely. However, if we want to hit those insanely powerful moments full of emotion, that requires a lot of breath support and having a wide, open mouth." 8.2 Safe
Flubbernugget Music Of The Night - Phantom of the Opera "But god those notes when you just let yourself belt at the end. I have goosebumps all over my skin. You are amazing. This was not a perfect take, and I think you know that, there were rough patches in the middle and even a little during the bridge, all of which I think you are aware with more time you would have cleaned up." 9.6 Safe
Bellaphant Requiem - Dear Evan Hansen "In the beginning I think nerves or a lack of breath support got you because you were under the pitch necessary to continue. But then once that part was over, you continued to just sail along and really nailed the timing. The tender moments were just wonderful for me." 9.2 Safe
Klick Safer - First Date "You delivered a lot of great emotional moments and a lot of amazing dynamics to this. This was a break out round for you and really I was very impressed. There were a few moments you had some pitch things going on, but that's just more of probably the time limits of a contest like this. The key change was well executed." 9.6 Safe
Haschel Cedricson One Day More - Les Miserables "Your range is absolutely incredible. I will say you struggled a little on the lower end. However, if I recall correctly this is your first attempt at broadway? I think you had fun with this and really embraced the spirit of the song." 9 Safe
T-Bone N/A N/A N/A Withdrew
Davsto Stars - Les Miserables "Was it perfect? No, but you delivered probably your most memorable performance yet and I don't want to detract from this. Overall, aside from a few pitch problems, I thought you had phenomenal breath support and control. AND THAT END NOTE?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! PERFECTION!!!!" 9.4 Safe
lilith2013 Defying Gravity - Wicked "This song demands a lot of the singer, and I think you really just delivered with this performance. I think you were pretty much pitch perfect throughout most of the song you had just ever the slightest bit of being under pitch towards the end of the song. Just wow, you freaking stepped it up this round and delivered something spectacular." 9.9 Safe
Mina Satisfied - Hamilton "This is a very hard song to pull off and you took an extremely huge risk. It was mostly successful. There were a few moments in the middle and a few of the louder notes towards the end that were shaky and I think the pitch suffered as a result of that shakiness." 9.2 Safe

R3/Gender Bender

The theme of this round was to perform a song that was originally sung by someone of a gender you don't identify with. Again, the previous round's winner selected the next theme from a list. One contestant dared another to sing Womanizer due to not being able to "imagine a way to make that song vocally appealing." The result of that might shock you:

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor "This is an extremely hard song to perform and I would say this was a successful gender bender! Great job!! I would say this felt a little low in your range, but you did your thing and overall I'd call it a success." 9.3 Safe
Aristophanes Delicate - Taylor Swift "The song itself didn't give you a lot of room to show off those lovely high notes I love hearing from you and in addition, it didn't give you a lot of room to put your own Aristophanes twist. This competition is getting stiff, and aside from a couple moments you went flat, you did really really well." 8.8 Eliminated
Flubbernugget Rolling in the Deep - Adele "DRAAAAAMAAATIC. You are a very very strong contender in this competition and this was an absolutely pitch perfect gender bender. For whatever reason this sounded like Linkin Park doing Adele and I was HERE FOR IT!!! I have NO NOTES." 10 Co-Winner
Bellaphant Story of My Life - One Direction "You have an incredible vibrato to your voice that adds so much color and depth to what you sing. I honestly thought you killed the choruses. I think your opening could be cleaned up a bit going forward." 9.3 Safe
Klick Over the Rainbow - Judy Garland "This was a very ambitious song choice. There were a few times you came in a little early to your entrances, but it was so subtle I almost didn't catch it. Overall you just killed this. You are phenomenal and I think you've shown a lot of growth." 9.8 Safe
Haschel Cedricson Womanizer - Britney Spears "I LOVE THAT I HEARD A SOLO VOICE THIS TIME. You were pitch perfect, in rhythm, and although the song itself has a tendency to not have a wide range you somehow showed incredible range. This is so fabulous to be honest with you. I don't. I can't. Just ahhhhhhh. WOW." 10 Co-Winner
Davsto Other Side of the World - KT Tunstall "I loved your little skips in your singing which showed you thought about placement of your singing which I think is amazing given you weren't feeling well. There was some slight pitch issues with certain notes in the verses, more towards the beginning than the ending." 9.4 Safe
lilith2013 Hellfire - Tony Jay "This was not your strongest performance, and I think you know it. I want to highlight the positives of this performance. I definitely heard passion, I definitely appreciate you taking the risk, and that last note was KILLER. I'm very proud of you overall, but please rest your voice for the next round." 9 Safe
Mina Still Loving You - the Scorpions "This was a really unique choice and I'm glad you went to your rock roots because you are clearly very much in your element with this one. There are times where you push your voice and it sometimes has a tendency to sound a little under pitch." 9.5 Safe

R4/Country

The co-winners worked together to select Country. Flubbernugget wanted to "get it out of the way." Haschel noted that "this whole contest is wreaking havoc on my Youtube Recommended Videos algorithm." The contestants also discussed continuity errors in the "Toby Keith lyrical universe."

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso Let The Mystery Be - Iris DeMent "Please take care of your voice and make sure you have nice open vowels so your throat doesn't constrict as much when you get up there. Aside from that I can tell this was a song you connected with emotionally and you really did deliver a story." 9.4 Safe
Flubbernugget Hurt - Johnny Cash "Aside from the glottal singing, this was pretty great. You picked something in your range, something you mostly kept pitch, and I think you were good rhythmically." 9.2 Safe
Bellaphant Jesus Take The Wheel - Carrie Underwood "I don't think country is a genre you are comfortable in. That being said, you did what you could with this song and overall it was quite lovely. " 9.2 Safe
Klick Alcohol - Brad Paisley "This was far and by far your week and you should be very proud. You had a story, you told it, you were in pitch (aside from one or two moments) and you pretty much picked the perfect song for your vocal range." 9.8 Winner
Haschel Cedricson The Auctioneer - LeRoy Van Dyke " This song was hard in terms of singing the lyrics rhythmically. So I have to commend you for really just once again nailing pitch and rhythm. While it was perfect, I don't think it was very challenging in terms of range of vocals like I'm used to from you. There was a key change which you handled well, but other than that it was very repetitive." 9.4 Safe
Davsto Jolene - Dolly Parton "This is a very well known song and I think you were mostly on pitch and showed vocal range versatility. However, there were times in the upper notes you strained. Since Country is about story telling, some breathy passionate expressions in this song might have helped add emotional depth to this." 8.7 Eliminated
lilith2013 Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood "I think there was a bit of a mismatch between your lovely voice and the very powerful vocals this song requires in order to deliver. I think pitch and rhythm were mostly spot on for the most part. A couple upper notes were a touch flat." 9 Safe
Mina Fancy - Reba McEntire " There were parts that felt a little rushed for the backing track. In addition, there were some lower notes I heard you struggle with a bit. Way to go out of your comfort zone a bit. In your softer moments it was truly delightful. 8.9 Safe

R5/Music in Animation

The theme of this round was to perform a song from an animated movie or TV show.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan "Your very first note was off, but after that you were basically spot on with your pitch. You handled that key change like a freaking pro towards the end. I think this was a riveting performance and you really captured the spirit of the song." 9.6 Safe
Flubbernugget Brains! from The Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy "Overall, I liked the risk taken with this unorthodox song choice, but it didn't allow you to really emotionally dive into it and was sort of...for the most part, just the same few notes repeating over and over and is...well...about wanting to get brains or not having them. " 9.5 Safe
Bellaphant Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid "You had power, emotion and just a lot of amazing depth to your voice. I can tell you've REALLY taken my advice to heart in prior rounds. You are shining bright. I heard you sing just slightly under the tone on rare occasion." 9.8 Winner
Klick How far I'll Go from Moana "This is a very tough song to sing and it's an extremely difficult song to get pitch perfect. Be sure for powerful notes such as the ending one that you have enough breath to get through the end and not accidentally go flat." 8.6 Eliminated
Haschel Cedricson Kiss the Girl from the Little Mermaid "Okay well first off, range wise, this was a good song for you. It allowed you to have those multi voice layerings that you enjoy doing in a weirdish barbershop style at times. However, I wasn't like blown away with this song choice and I think it was a little safe." 9 Safe
lilith2013 Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid "For 99% of this song you were spot on with your pitch. To really take your music to the next level I recommend playing around with emotional depth in your singing such as really understanding the lyrics and portraying them in a way that's captivating. " 9.2 Safe
Mina Once Upon a December - Anastasia "There were times your voices strained trying to hit some of those transitions such as in "December" at the very end. That being said I have to commend you stepped out of your comfort zone and for the most part nailed a risky choice." 9 Safe

R6/1970s

The theme of this round was to perform a song that was originally released in the 1970s. The contestant that was eliminated was due to not submitting.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso December 1963 (Oh What a Night) - The Four Seasons "Falsettos are so hard to nail and you have to have the right degree of volume on them and I think you were straining a bit to hit some of those high notes. Probably sticking in lower ranges would be better in the future." 9.4 Safe
Flubbernugget Killer Queen - Queen "I think if you are going to take on a legend like Queen you have to be ready to have impeccible annunciation, crystal clear unstrained upper range, and good clean runs. I think you rhythmically nailed it. But overall you've had stronger rounds." 8.8 Safe
Bellaphant Dancing Queen - Abba "ABBA is one of those groups you HAVE to nail if you are going to do. I think when you were on, I fully appreciated your choice. However in some of the verses you went a little flat where you were under pitch." 9.2 Safe
Haschel Cedricson Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra "I really liked this choice for you and I think you did it a lot of justice. I think you got a bit "winded" towards the end as I heard you trying to keep up with some of the faster sections, but that's to be expected with a song like this. Your vocal instrumentalizations were really unique and I thought it added a lot of character and depth." 9.7 Safe
lilith2013 N/A N/A N/A Withdrew
Mina Blue - Joni Mitchell "I felt this whole performance. Your build in volume towards the end sent CHILLS down my spine. Keep this up and you might well be on your way to a win in this contest." 10 Winner

R7/Eurovision

The theme of this round was to perform a song that has been part of the Eurovision Song Contest or the movie.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso Lion of Love by Erik Mjones "I loved it and enjoyed your strong vocals. There were a couple of moments you were slightly under pitch. In addition, towards the end I could tell you were struggling with breath support since this is a HIGHLY demanding song in terms of needing to keep up with rhythm but also not run out of breath." 9.3 Safe
Flubbernugget Arcade - Duncan Laurence "his was not a pitch perfect performance. In the beginning you had a tendency to go a little sharp. You are MUCH MUCH stronger when you get to the chorus and sing out. Your falsetto is pretty phenomenal and I think was something I haven't seen as much before." 9 Safe
Bellaphant Undo - Sanna Nielsen "To be honest this song is SO HARD to sing, so I applaud you for picking a good song for your voice and having great strong vocals, I just think the "Undos" could have been stronger to make sure those pitches were just spot on and unfortunately that is the 'meat' of the song so to speak." 8.8 Eliminated
Haschel Cedricson Dschinghis Khan - Dschinghis Khan "I appreciate you picking something that clearly was a period piece and in a language that wasn't English. You challenged yourself this week. I could hear the emotion and intensity coming through even in a foreign language and I appreciate it." 10 Winner
Mina Rise Like a Phoenix - Conchita Wurst "This is a HARD SONG to sing with all of the different jumps and changes and runs. And honestly I think it was almost perfect. I thought your "re-born" was a little under pitch leading to the bridge. Aside from that, i thought it was powerful and on point" 9.8 Safe

R8/Non-Animated Movie Hits

The theme of this round was to perform a song that originally debuted as part of a non-animated movie. The judge declared that the round was "too close to call" and opted for a Judge's save.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Score (/10) Result
toolenduso Pure Imagination - Gene Wilder "Okay I don't know what you did to fix your microphone, but your voice was crystal clear in this song. Wow. This was the absolute perfect song for your voice and you had an insane amount of vocal control when you sang this. Your vibrato and pitch and emphasis of wording was just...stellar." 10 Winner
Flubbernugget Perfect Drug - Nine Inch Nails "You have character, you are on pitch, you clearly know who you are and this song just embodies everything I adore about you and your voice. The song is a little repetitive at times and doesn't give you a lot of room to really do anything particularly interesting with it. Your falsetto is outta this world." 9.8 Safe
Haschel Cedricson You Know My Name - Chris Cornell I think was a really risky choice. I think you had a little breath support issues towards the middle of this where it sounded like you were running out of breath. Overall though I really liked this song choice and you sounded as great as you always do. Way to do something outside of the box! 9.6 Safe
Mina Papa, Can You Hear Me - Barbara Streisand "I mean the fact you took on a barbara streisand standard and nailed it as well as you did with as much emotion as you did is just incredible. I think there were a couple times your voice sounded strained. However you really just went for it on this song and demonstrated why you have made it so far in this competition." 9.6 Safe

R9/Judge's Choice

In the Judge's Choice round, the judge picked out three song options to provide to contestants that were thought to be good song choices. The winner of the prior round was provided with a bonus song. Contestants could request two replacement songs and provide feedback if desired.

Additionally, an audience voting twist was added. The judge's scoring would count for half. First place in the audience vote would be worth 10 points, second would be 9.5, and third would be 9.0. The lowest aggregate score would be eliminated.

Due to the Judge's save the prior round, this would have been a double elimination. Haschel Cedricson withdrew due to inclement weather. There was also a tie in the audience vote, causing the elimination to ultimately be determined by the Judge.

Contestant Song Feedback (Selected Quote) Judge Score (/10) Audience Score (/10) Result
toolenduso For Forever from Dear Evan Hansen " I cried. This was amazing. I don't have words. This was honestly my favorite recording of the entire competition thus far." 10 10 Winner
Flubbernugget Billie Jean - Michael Jackson (Chris Cornell cover) "This was a VERY powerful performance. I think using dynamics is going to be great tool for you in the future. I think it would make a great performance like this just pop into an incredible song." 9.6 9.5 Eliminated
Haschel Cedricson N/A N/A N/A N/A Withdrew
Mina Roxanne - The Police (Dilana cover) "Totally an A++ effort on this. There were a few moments where I could tell you struggled ever so slightly getting the breath support to belt out those more powerful upper notes. However I think your own personal touch on it and that was really special. You also had great dynamics and your vocals were spot on." 9.7 9.5 Safe

R10/Past & Present

This round required two song submissions from the finalists. For Past, they needed to re-submit a song they performed between the Audition and Round 8. For Present, it was a free-for-all choice. The winner was to be determined by audience vote.

Contestant Past Song Present Song Result
toolenduso You'll Be Back - Hamilton Thinkin Bout You - Frank Ocean 2nd place
Mina Magic Man - Heart Round Midnight - Thelonius Monk 1st place

Season 2 Summary

Season 2 took place between July 2021 and January 2022. It featured Malkon05 as Head Judge and the previous winner (Mina and runner-up toolenduso as additional judges. This second season won the 2022 Mashtermind Mashie award for Best General Mish Mash Game.

Season 2 had 10 contestants. The 3rd place (Flubbernugget and 4th place Haschel Cedricson contestants from Season 1 returned, but swapped their placements. The finale came down to an audience vote between lilith2013 and Skelda. By a single vote, lilith2013 was crowned the second winner of the series.

The trend of a non-elimination Audition round and the winner of a round getting to choose the theme from a list continued. The semi-finals featured a Judge's Choice theme similar to Season 1, except that each judge submitted one song suggestion to each contestant for a total of 3. The finale featured the same Past & Present theme and audience vote as Season 1.
