IC Matrix is a matrix-based setup with the IC mechanic and a high density of power roles.

During signups, you must pick whether you want to be the IC or don't want to be the IC. The Town IC role will be given to a random player who wanted to be the IC, with the other 12 roles being given out to the other players.

Setup Info

A single d10 is rolled to choose a row or column or diagonal from the matrix. The three town power roles and one mafia power role from the chosen line on the matrix are added to the setup, with the remaining slots populated with a Mafia 1-shot Jack-of-all-trades (may act as a Roleblocker, Role Cop, Juggernaut, or Rolestopper; but may only act once in the game), an Informed Mafioso (knows what setup was chosen), the Town IC, and six Vanilla Townies.

After the setup is chosen, the Town IC role will be given to a random player who wanted to be the IC, and the other roles will be randomized among the other 12 players.

The Mason shares a private topic with the Town IC.

A Bulwark may roleblock the factional kill but will not block any other abilities. The Roleblocker (or the Jack-of-all-trades acting as a Roleblocker) resolves before the Jailkeeper and Bulwark.

Mechanics

  • A matrix is used to determine the setup. There are 10 possible setups.
  • The Town IC role card is randomized from every player who wanted to be the IC. After the Town IC role card is randomized, the other 12 role cards are randomized among the other players.
  • Mafia has inherent multitasking.
  • Town IC is revealed to be the Town IC at the start of the game
