Fairy Godfather

Often in mafia, two players will get in an argument so heated that each is simply incapable of believing the other's innocence. At other times, scum will need to concoct an unlikely-sounding explanation of why one of a seemingly confirmed group of town players, and not the scum player himself, is the correct elimination.

Enter the Fairy Godfather argument. Essentially, this argument boils down to the suggestion that there is some strange role or mechanism involved in the game that means the results of night actions which appear to 'clear' the target are unreliable. The most common example of this is when a player whose innocence is strongly suggested by an investigative result similar to, but not actually, a cop. The player making the Fairy Godfather argument will suggest that the target of the argument has some kind of immunity that renders this result untrustworthy, even when the game state suggests this is unlikely.

Note that the outlandish role suggested need not necessarily be a Godfather- it could also be a scum mason, or some kind of Serial Killer with exagerrated immunities to anything that might reveal it as scum.

A good example is Mini 488, in which Guardian faked an investigative role that suggested claimed mason Korlash was a scum mason, despite the game being a mini, which was proven to have a Mafia Roleblocker and in which there was strong evidence of an investigation-immune Godfather, which would have required an unprecedented level of scum power for a mini in order for his argument to be true.
