Distracted is a role modifier that causes your ability to fail if motion would be detected.

Standard version

A Motion Distracted role fails if any action was performed by or on the target player. That is, a Distracted role fails if a Motion Detector would detect motion.

Variations

Distracted is in a set of 6 action-based modifiers:

  • Motion Dependent - Action only succeeds if the target has targeted someone else or been targeted by someone else (action fails on a motion detector negative result)
  • Distracted - Action only succeeds if the target has not targeted someone else nor been targeted by someone else (action fails on a motion detector positive result)
  • Oblivious - Action only succeeds if the target has acted (action fails on a reporter negative result)
  • Time-Lapsed - Action only succeeds if the target has not acted (action fails on a reporter positive result)
  • Inattentive - Action only succeeds if the target has been targeted by someone else (action fails on an inspector negative result)
  • Unconfident - Action only succeeds if the target has not been targeted by someone else (action fails on an inspector positive result)



Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Distracted" describes the modifier as follows:

  • As a modifier on a single ability: This action will be blocked if used on a player who has acted or has been targeted by someone else. (edit)
  • As a modifier that affects all abilities: Your night actions will be blocked if used on players who have acted or have been targeted by someone else. (edit)

Example (modifying a single ability)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Distracted Jailkeeper.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night. This action will be blocked if used on a player who has acted or has been targeted by someone else.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Example (affecting all abilities)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Distracted Jack of All Trades Tracker Doctor.

Your night actions will be blocked if used on players who have acted or have been targeted by someone else.

You have the following active abilities, but may use only one per Night:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who that player targeted that night. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
