This is a variation in which only Cops send in a choice on Night Zero (which occurs prior to the first day). After Night 0, the game resumes at Day 1.
Within Open Setups, this rule is only used verbatim in Dethy and Too Much Scum; however, Bad Cop, Insane Cop uses a similar rule in which both Cops get a pregame investigation and a Mafia Framer is allowed to frame someone.
This was later generalized into the Head Start modifier, allowing any role to submit a pregame choice in the same manner.
