A Companion is a player who is informed that another player is aligned with the Town.

Normal version

This role is on the Experimental Role List, and is currently allowed in Complex Normal games.

A Companion is informed (ideally via a Results PM) that another player is aligned with the Town (during pregame, or with timing determined by a role modifier). The information on which player is aligned with the Town should be non-random with regards to what player-slot is being referred to. For example, a Companion can be told that a Vanilla Townie is aligned with the Town.

A Companion flips as a Companion, but does not flip with the information on which player is aligned with the Town.

Variations

Best Friends are two players who are Companions to each other.

Informed is the generalized version of this role.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Companion" describes the passive ability as follows:

  • As an unmodified passive ability: You are informed that a player is aligned with the Town. (edit)
  • As a passive ability with a modifier: You will be informed that the nth player is aligned with the Town OR a player is aligned with the Town on day n. (edit)

Example (unmodified)

You are informed that a player is aligned with the Town.

You have no active abilities.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
