the early games from when I first joined. most of these were p good, but after the last game (NY169) I started having confidence issues (mostly based on the fact I started to have a defined meta which everyone was expecting me to play to every game) and my game went downhill from there. this is the time when my town game got put on the map.

made the wrong choice on LYLO after Sakura Hana fakeclaimed doc. in hindsight, it should have been obvious what the right choice was, given the person I hammered was obvtown and could not have been scum with either of the remaining players. this game was really traumatic with about 3 or 4 wall posters and a shitton of TvTs, including a newbie who was actually an alt, and so I wound up not playing in another Newbie game for a while after this. @_@

there were 2 wagons, one of which was on me (when everyone besides one player was townreading me), and the other one ended up being the bodyguard. then, on N2, the tracker got roleblocked at the same time as the traitor got hit, and got lynched. fortunately, then the roleblocker kept blocking the mafia kills and it was a victory from there. overall, this game was just full of lulz.

this game would have been fine, except for one not-so-small problem. scum had an extra 1-shot kill that they used to force a surprise LYLO. moreover, one of the town (morph the cat aka ffery/Cabd) was an unrequited lover to scum. I prob could have won this game, had I known it was LYLO, but it couldn't have been helped.

I had 2/3 of the scumteam and the SK in my end-of-day scumreads, then I got night killed by the SK on N1. then town lost bc the setup was 9-3-1 and the SK had a dayvig. fun game when I was in it, but I don't think I had much of a chance with that kind of ratio in the game.

this game was a nightmare. I felt like I was wondering around in a maze of fog the entire game, and getting nowhere whatsoever as a result. I came close to getting out of it on D5, but it was too little too late. at least I got townread by everyone and had to be NK'ed despite getting practically nothing done the entire game .-.

I basically replaced into an already solved gamestate with the last scum at L-1, so the game ended immediately after I replaced in - although I was paranoid as hell so I spent like 3 or 4 RL days making sure I wasn't missing anything before I decided I was ready to continue. it was fun while I was there though. this is the standing record for the longest replace in in any game, btw (358 pages \o/).

one of the first games I joined on site, and I got outed by Majiffy on D1 for what were entirely playstyle tells, and then I got leashed until D4. (although the fact I claimed vig didn't help and was definitely a huge mistake) on the final day, I invented a half-assed plan to try and keep myself alive by convincing everyone there were 5 mafia total instead of 4, which would mean they couldn't lynch me if they had mislynched that day. needless to say, it didn't work. the game itself consisted entirely of everyone brutally arguing over whether I should be lynched yet or continue to be leashed, and the fact there were several vitriolic players in the game did nothing to help that. oh well, the ending of the game (kanyeknowsbest vengekilling the last scum in LYLO) made up for everything that happened ~

town played really well early D1, having all 3 wagons be on scum (at one point, every townie was voting scum). I'm not exactly sure what happened after that, but town slipped really hard and scum managed to get a D1 mislynch in, causing everything to snowball in hell. part of it is that one of the scum was erroneously confirmed as town based on a role interaction, and another part is that I had given another scum a free pass because one of my other scum reads (which was incorrect) was tunneling him really hard. eventually town salvaged it due to the efforts of displaced after replacing in late game.

NY 169: The EPIC XD Mafia Game of Greatness

this game was a wild ride. replaced in D1, and came under some pretty heavy fire, including from scum Nacho. fortunately I managed to shake it off (with help from F-16 Fighting Falcon). after one of the scum (Generic) got caught by the jailkeeper on D4, the game got POE'd to shit. then Nacho almost won anyway bc a bunch of people were townreading him for no reason and I had to argue against them all. the thing I will always regret about this game is that I wasn't on zmuffinman's lynch wagon when he did get lynched; otherwise, I'm pretty much satisfied here.

got replaced out but fuck it, I'm including this anyway. this game was hilarious as hell. I was lol bussing one of my partners pretty much the entire time I was in the game; Varsoon and my "reads" were basically opposite each other's and we never synced; stuff like that was basically normal for this game. I was playing against the town games of several players from my homesite, all of whom failed at catching me.

Spring 2014

the set of games starting from 2014. around the end of 2013, I felt like I had lost something that was very important to me, and I could not figure out what it was. it was at this point I started to have a lot of confidence issues - so I basically started playing to what everyone had interpreted as my meta. this happened since I not only got townread for it, but I subliminally thought that by doing so I would be able to achieve the same kind of results I had before. this not only didn't help anything, but it destroyed a lot of my motivation and affected my playstyle in a very negative way. as a result, not only did I play many games to completion, but it did not feel like I was actually playing the game at all, and I felt disconnected from the majority of games I was in. this came through in my play in several ways.

Xenosaga Mafia

this game was basically the source of a lot of my confidence issues; I got ran up on D1 for a bunch of reasons (some of which were silly, e.g. making 2 posts within a few seconds of each other), but most of which were because the majority of people who had played with me before thought I was playing so off that it was not my towngame. in retrospect, I was having an off game, but moreover, no one was responding to my posts or answering my questions. eventually I broke down and replaced out. after some consideration, I decided to stay, but I had basically shut down at that point. my reads were meh-ish I guess, I only townread one scum and the SK, and I was onto one of the scum (pirate mollie) when Nacho was reading her as town; I also saved a mason on N2 who eventually made it to endgame.

Touhou: Mafia in the Land of Fantasy

I played a bad D1 and got forced to claim. then D2 came and after reevaluating I had nearly perfect reads, including directly knowing who the SK was. the SK (ActionDan) got ran up and claimed kill-cop with a guilty, and it happened the person he chose (chamber/Malakittens hydra) actually was mafia, and he got to coast through the entire game. on top of that, the town cop had a guilty on a mafia player (zmuffinman), which they did not claim, as opposed to just crumbing it. D3 happens, they got nightkilled, we were following through on the crumb, and then the lynch got derailed in no small part to another fortunate roleclaim (in this case, 2-shot tracker). the mist from those 2 claims effectively sealed the fate of the town. eventually, halfway through the game I went on vacation and got too lazy to do anything and I ended up anti-carrying the game for the most part. not my finest hour at all OTL

my day game was pretty bad and consisted of no less than 8 prod dodges (this is not an exaggeration). in order to make up for that, I decided to fakeclaim 1-shot sensor immediately at the start of D2. as a result of general town apathy, I managed to get to endgame with it. @_@

I was a giant lurkfuck all of D1. when I did catch up, I pegged the cult leader although I missed his buddy. eventually I got recruited at the start of D3. this setup was pretty insane and unpredictable (and kind of unfair towards everyone), but interesting nonetheless.

replaced in D3 and, rather than reading the full game first, I instead focused on interactions with the one flipped scum (Bulbazak), which I quickly figured out was not an optimal way of doing things. in LYLO, I had to figure out which of the two remaining players had hard bussed on D1. one of them (StrangerCoug)'s LYLO play was really obvtown while the rest of his play was meh-ish, whereas the other one (Desperado)'s LYLO play was bad while the rest of his play was practically perfect. I chose incorrectly and was endgamed by scum-Desperado. GG

this game was a complete nightmare. I had never had to work so hard to push my reads in any game up to this one. moreover, when I was in the game, I had several crucial misreads that I could not overcome. however, after I found out my reads up to D2 were wrong, the resulting POE I ended up with was perfect, save one scum (Nacho) who I had misread in some part because we shared a neighborhood, and then........ scum nightkilled me bc they had rolecopped me N1 and knew my role. FML

this game had 5 day deadlines. I messed around with my playstyle this game and went rampaging around pushing the fuck out of everyone, and got massively townread for it. it was a lot of fun playing with a lot of old school players, as well as a lot of players I had seen but never played with before. eventually I got p much completely owned by scum Marquis and that was that.

this game was multiball, with 2 scumteams (New Phyrexia and Mirrodin Pure). the first time I *really* got invested in a scum game. in response to my previous few towngames, I went rampaging around pushing the fuck out of everyone and got massively townread for it. I played well until D3, but my performance dropped around D4. ultimately it didn't matter because I had a massive amount of towncred. game ended up being drawn because of a degenerate multiball ending, which sucks because we missed over half our kills and my partner got crosskilled on N1. oh well ~

Fall 2014

it was at this point that I had been discussing my problems related to this game with a lot of my friends, since I still had no idea what I was missing, and it still felt like I was not really playing the game. the two responses I got that resonated the most were Cabd telling me it was my confidence and to play entirely how my gut told me to; the other response was GIF and I deciding to hydra in order to learn what I was doing wrong. it turned out everything was fine after that.

one of the most intense games I think I've ever seen, causing no less than 4 people to replace out of frustration. scum Varsoon quickhammered his partner (Thesp) who had fakeclaimed Cop, forgetting he was his partner. by the end of the game, half of the player base was legitimately confirmed town by the real Cop, who had survived until then.
