When a player dies in 'set house from start' formats, you can handle that players death one of two ways.  You can say only the 'house is collapsible' and thus when player 2 dies, he can not talk to 1 and 3, player 2's private topics are locked.  Or you can also the 'neighborhood is collapse' and now allow the player in house 1 to talk to the player in house 3 when house 2 dies.  The moderstor can select the resolution they are most comfortable with.  (The neighborhood is colapsible in 'pick a new house everyday format'You will get new neighbors for each night and likely want long nights in this format so the private topics get well used)

PF Stoofer's rule 2 advicement: Run a Random pairings at start with day talk and collapsible neighborhoodsSee how it goes.

If town wins, then switch to collapsible housing only or introduce new neighbors each night with night talk only to favor scum
If scum wins, then switch to players pick at start only format as that should favor town and experienced players more as they will have an idea of who they want to play and neighbor with

There are 11 houses in a circle. Which player lives in each house can be decided at game start randomly or via players picking a house pre-alignment drafting at the start. Or you can have players pick a new house each day if you want only night talk. The player that lives in house 1, can talk to whomever lives in house 2 and house 11. The player in house 2 can talk to whomever lives in house 1 and house 3. And so on through the circle. Any player can live next to any other player regardless of each player's alignment. Yes, it is possible for Mafia to live next to Mafia.

When a player dies in 'set house from start' formats, you can handle that players death one of two ways. You can say only the 'house is collapsible' and thus when player 2 dies, he can not talk to 1 and 3, player 2's private topics are locked. Or you can also say the 'neighborhood is collapse' and then allow the player in house 1 to talk to the player in house 3 when house 2 falls. The moderator can select the method they are most comfortable with for the neighborhood pairings.

The neighborhood is always collapsible in 'pick a new house everyday format'. You will get new neighbors for each night and likely want long nights in this format so the private topics get well used
