Symbiotic is a role that compulsively and unavoidably targets a player during Night 1. If the Symbiotic player's target is supposed to be killed during the Night, the Symbiotic player will die instead. If the Symbiotic player and the Symbiotic player's target don't share alignments (i.e. they are cross-aligned), investigative abilities targeting either of them will fail (neither player will be informed of this fact).

Standard version

A Symbiotic must target a player during N1. For the rest of the game, as long as the Symbiotic is alive, if that player would be killed, the Symbiotic dies instead, and if that player doesn't share an alignment with the Symbiotic, investigative abilities targeting either of them will fail.

(edit)
  • As a passive ability with a modifier: At Night, if you haven't chosen a player yet, you must choose a player. as long as you are alive, the nth Night OR on day n if that player would be killed, you will die instead, and if that player doesn't share an alignment with you, investigative abilities targeting either of you will fail. (edit)
