The decoy, also known as a sidekick, is a similar role to a bodyguard. Every night the decoy chooses a target to protect, but instead of protecting the target from kills, the decoy will absorb any other night action that is directed at their target. Often townie aligned, the role is also used by the mafia at time to protect the killer (or godfather) from roleblocks that stop the nightly kill.

The sidekick, also known as a decoy, is a similar role to a bodyguard. Every night the decoy chooses a target to protect, but instead of protecting the target from kills, the decoy will absorb any other night action that is directed at their target. Often townie aligned, the role is also used by the mafia at time to protect the killer (or godfather) from roleblocks that stop the nightly kill.
