An Open Setup in which all possible roles are known, but instead of being assigned randomly, are drafted by the players, so that the first player who gets to pick in the draft is assured their choice of role. Depending upon the rules, subsequent players who pick a role that has already been picked usually remain either a Vanilla Townie or Mafia Goon depending upon alignment, so there is an increasing element of WIFOM as you get further down in the draft.

Alignment is usually assigned before the role draft, so that the mafia can discuss strategy for the draft and coordinate their role picks.
