A falseclaim is a [[Claim]] that is, to some extent, untrue.  It may be anything from lying about an [[Alignment]] to contriving an entirely new role.  A falseclaim is usually made by [[Scum]] players, as [[Town]] players are typically better off not lying, with very few exceptions (see [[Lynch All Liars]].

Some [[Moderator]]s will give the scum "safe false claims", or [[safe claims]], which mean that nobody in the game has the same role, thus preventing a [[Counterclaim]].  It also makes a [[Mass claim]] a much less effective [[Breaking Strategy]].
