Vengeful is a 5-player Open Setup devised by Rob13 in an attempt to create the smallest possible setup that includes a cult.

Roles

  • 1 1-Shot Cult Leader
  • 4 Vanilla Townies

Mechanics

  • The cult can't kill at all.
  • If, on Day 1 only, one of the townies is lynched, this townie gets to make a vigilante kill that night. (See Vengeful Townie)
  • This kill occurs before the cult recruitment in action resolution.
  • In the case that the cult wins on Night 1, only the Cult Recruiter wins. The townie recruited to the cult at night does not win.

Odds

Assuming all lynch and vengeance decisions are made randomly, cult will win 53.333% of games and town will win 46.667%. This assumes that the town will never no lynch (as this option gives them only a 30% chance of a win).

The cult's win odds are:

  • 20% chance of cult recruiter lynch D1 * 0% chance of cult win in this case +
  • 80% chance of townie lynch D1 *
    • (50% chance of vig kill targeting a townie that is NOT recruited +
    • 25% chance of vig kill targeting the cult recruiter * 0% chance of cult win in this case +
    • 25% chance of vig kill targeting the same townie that is targeted for recruitment * 67% chance of cult surviving final three)

You are a Vanilla Townie.

Abilities

  • During the Day, you may vote for whomever you want lynched.
  • Vengeful: If you are lynched on Day 1, you are allowed to make a Vengeful kill. This kill is considered a Night Action and will precede Cult Recruitment in resolution order.
  • If you are not lynched Day 1, during the Night, you may sleep.

Win Condition

  • You win when the Cult is eliminated and at least one Town-aligned player is still alive, or nothing can prevent the same.

1-Shot Cult Leader

You are a 1-Shot Cult Leader.

Abilities

  • During the Day, you may vote for whomever you want lynched.
  • Cult Leader: During the Night, you may PM me the name of another player. This player will be converted to the Cult faction. Since your ability is 1-Shot, you can only use this ability once during the game. This recruitment is considered a Night Action and will follow any Vengeful kill in resolution order.

Win Condition

  • You win when all players without a Cult wincon are eliminated and at least one Cult-aligned player is still alive (or nothing can prevent the same).
