An Associate is a player who is informed of another player's role.

Standard version

An Associate is informed (ideally via a Results PM) of another player's role (during pregame, or with timing determined by a role modifier), not including any alignment information. The information on which player's role is should be non-random with regards to what player-slot is being referred to. For example, an Associate can be told that a Vanilla Townie is Vanilla.

An Associate flips as a Associate, but does not flip with the information on a player's role.

Do note that Associate is not a Normal role.

Variations

Informed is the generalized version of this role.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Associate" describes the passive ability as follows:

  • As an unmodified passive ability: You are informed of a player's role. (edit)
  • As a passive ability with a modifier: You will be informed of the nth player's role OR a player's role on day n. (edit)

Example (unmodified)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Associate.

You are informed of a player's role.

You have no active abilities.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (modified)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Night 2 Associate.

You will be informed of a player's role during Night 2.

You have no active abilities.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
