Voting for endgame

Having the option for players to vote for endgame gives players the power to officially end the game. This can be used as a clear indicator from the players that they are unhappy with the current state of the game and believe that the game isn't worth playing anymore. In cases where this displeasure comes from stagnation, having players vote for ending the game may motive others into contributing more in order to prevent the game from ending. Additionally, in cases where a mod disappears, players can use this vote to make it clear that they would prefer the game to be discontinued instead of having a backup or list mod try to salvage the game.

In most cases, if a majority of players vote for endgame then the game will result in a draw. However, some moderators may choose to end the game differently or require a unanimous vote to end the game.

Theme Games

In theme games, players may have win conditions that can be only be achieved during a set period of time or require the game to end at a certain time. One such example would be a survivor who needs to survive until the game is over in order to win. It is in their best interest to see the game end as soon as possible in order to reduce the chances they will be killed. As a result, they may try to use the endgame voting option in order to achieve this. In cases where there are roles that actively benefit from the game ending early, the game will typically end in a mafia victory if no other win conditions are achieved. However, this means that voting to end the game could be seen as scummy and hence discourage using this option entirely.
