Vengeful is a 6-player Open Setup game.

Roles

There is one mafia, one cop, a one-shot daykilling vigilante and three vanilla townie.

Rules

The game uses standard Mafia rules; when the one Mafia player equals or outnumbers the other players, he wins. In addition,

  • The town vigilante only gets one shot at a kill and must make his kill during the day. The vigilante's kill ends the day.
  • There is no night 0l the cop only has one night to make investigations.
  • The cop will show a vigilante as scum if he is investigated.
  • There is no option for nolynch; if a deadline is set and no one has been lynched, someone will be killed randomly.

Strategy

While the game is set up in favor of townies, there is still a lot of strategy involved in the game. For example, the Vigilante must decide whether he wants to use his only kill on Day 1 or Day 2. If he decides to use it Day 1, he has a higher chance of hitting scum than the town would if they tried lynching. However, he also runs the risk of killing the Cop, and getting himself killed at night as well. If he waits until day 2, however, he has a greater chance of killing scum but runs the risk of being nightkilled first. Similarly, the Mafia player must decide if he wants to kill a Vigilante who made a Day 1 kill or attempt to find the cop instead.
