At the outset of the game, it is destined that on some random day, either at the beginning of the game, or on Day 3, 6, 9, or 12, the Melancholic player will become Suicidal. Unless he begins the game as Suicidal, on the day when he is two-thirds of the way to that point, he will become Deeply Melancholic.

There are three new roles, Doctor, Melancholic, and Suicidal. One villager starts out the game as Melancholic.

New roles

Melancholic and Suicidal

  • Melancholic and Suicidal players count as village for parity purposes.
  • At the outset of the game, it is destined that on some random morning, after Day 1 and before Day 15, the Melancholic player will become Suicidal.
  • When the village at large is told in the morning, "There was a red comet streaking through the sky last night," this means that the following morning, the Melancholic will become Suicidal.
  • A Melancholic player has the same win condition as a regular villager.
  • A Suicidal player's win condition changes, so that he only wins when either:
  1. His faction loses; or
  2. He gets killed by any means (lynching, gunshot, or night kill).

Otherwise, the Suicidal player loses.

Doctor (or Clinical Psychologist)
