is lurking considered to be a virtue on mafiascum?

mafiascum.net is a good site in terms of facilities (wiki, faq etc) and general policies -- but both ICs in my first (Newbie 689) game here regarded town lurking for several days at a time as a good strategy, and mod thought posting a couple of times a week was a lot of posts -- i guess that's why other forums refer to mafiascum as being slow -- also unclear pm role definitions to scum (which led to the game being decided halfway thru Day 2) and several inaccurate vote counts didn't helped) -- still i did learn stuff, so maybe i'll play a couple more games here just in case things get better... but i much prefer games where scum contributes, to games where town lurks
