In games with multiple families or other roles that can kill at night (such as the Vigilante), the Godfather may also be immune to being killed at night.

Or even in games without- one of my fond Mafia memories was when the GF had kill immunity and not investigation immunity and we assumed there was a vig for the entire game. --Norinel

Godfather is a name given exclusively to Mafia members. I've seen Town Godfathers, which are essentially named townies. -Pernicious Parrot

There's a difference between a role being not-normal and a role having no standard use. Godfather is a historical role that is only given to members of the Mafia. Any not-mafia explicitly-named Godfather would fall under unreasonable moderator lies and would be a bastard role. A mod is free to run a bastard game with Godfather as a Town role, but it would take many more games played after that one to change the standard. This wiki is a reference and a disclaimer that any role could be and do anything makes the reference pointless. Lycanfire (talk) 18:02, 16 August 2018 (EDT)
