In games with multiple families or other roles that can kill at night (such as the Vigilante), the Godfather may also be immune to being killed at night.

Or even in games without- one of my fond Mafia memories was when the GF had kill immunity and not investigation immunity and we assumed there was a vig for the entire game. --Norinel

Godfather is a name given exclusively to Mafia members. I've seen Town Godfathers, which are essentially named townies. -Pernicious Parrot
