Scumscale

[Town]---------------[]---------------[Scum]

This is a device I use for showing my perspective of the game. It's a quick, visual layout of all living players. What makes the scumscale more valuable than a traditional list of suspects, or even a tiered list of all players in the game, is how the players are measured by two different degrees. Not only are players shown their positions relative to each other like they would in a traditional list, but they're also shown, with some precision, as to where exactly they stand with me at a mere glance. Each scumscale has a town side, on the left, a center point, and a scum side, to the right. Between the two extremities are a total of 30 hyphens, used to indicate a player's position on the scale.

[Town]A--B-----C-D------E-[]F------G-H------I--J[Scum]

An example of a ten player scale, as shown above, would take place in a game with 11 people alive, including myself. In this example, player A would be virtually confirmed by circumstances surrounding the game. Player B would be in great standing. Players C and D are both in a safe spot. When separated by one hyphen, an interchangeability is implied. Although player C is further left (more town) than player D, they may easily be swapped with one another. This position is meant to encompass more of the traditional feel of a tiered list of players, showing that these two players in particular are within very close range of one another. Player E is currently in a slightly town position, but the closer a player is to the point, the less clear I am about their play. Player F is not in a very different spot than player E, as he is still closer to the point than he is to any side. The only difference between the two is that I would sooner choose player F as scum than I would choose player E. Players G and H are in the same position as players C and D, but on the opposite side of the scale. Player I would be in very bad standing, while player J would be virtually confirmed scum by circumstances surrounding the game.
