Mini 1564 - Nyctapolis

Modded by: pienyan Type: Mini Normal Length: 4 days, 41 pages Outcome: Perfect Mafia win

Comment: Setup was very basic, designed to be fair and have a lot of roles that were fun to play. Scum had daychat (which is a must for me when I play scum), town had Masons and a JOAT that had a lot of choice on how to use his role.

Highlights include:

  • Sakura Hana fakeclaiming Doc and having it go uncontested for the second time, despite claiming to have protected someone who died ._.

The winning scumteam was: notSakura (notscience + Sakura Hana), InsidiousLemons, enomis

Mini 1593 - 咲 -Saki- Mafia

Modded by: pienyan Type: Mini Theme Length: 5 days, 151 pages Outcome: Mafia win

Comment: It was really fun to run a game based on really obscure flavor, and have it fill and be able to put as much flavor as any other game (even for people who are familiar with anime/manga, Saki is still kind of unknown). I wanted to make it as immersive as it would be in any other game; if you were familiar with the flavor, I did not want to take anything away from the experience just because no one else was. That's not to say I'm particularly good at flavor, but oh well ~

Highlights include:

  • zmuffinman writing an entire thesis on why Sakura Hana was scum (it was wrong)
  • D1 being 94 pages, taking I think 2nd for longest D1 in a mini. It was essentially every single member of the town getting in shitstorms with the rest of the town. Yet, despite that, they managed to have a scum wagon 24 hours until deadline which...... got derailed in favor of a town wagon. RIP
  • Drew-sta getting modkilled after erroneously quoting part of his role PM (which was somewhat my fault for not making it clear enough, but still, lolol)
  • Lots and lots and lots of page tops, to the point where everyone started ganging up on me to take my pagetops ;w;
  • Rubicon pulling the game out in 3p LYLO ^.^

The winning scumteam was: Rubicon, Drew-sta, DarkLightA

Mini 1621: Frog Mafia

Modded by: Rumia x Cirno (pienyan + GuyInFreezer) Type: Mini Theme Length: 4 days, 41 pages Outcome: Town win

Comment: First setup I ran with GIF. Frog flavor ftw ~

The winning town was: Primate, VictorDeAngelo, orcinus_theoriginal, 2birds1stone, Garmr, Bookitty, Flubbernugget, massive, ArcAngel9, Feysal

Corpse Party Mafia

Modded by: pienyan Type: Large Theme Length: 5 days, 95 pages Outcome: Mafia win

Comment: This was a mechanical setup; everyone started at 0% Darkness and died if they reached 100% Darkness over the course of the game, where Darkness could be increased by RL time passing or being voted (it also replaced the scum nightkill). I kind of messed up the setup, though, and gave scum way too much power while town hardly had anything. Plus I made town's primary investigative a flavor cop when flavor was not assigned to alignment in an obvious way, which I had missed during the design of the setup. Overall the main takeaways from this were not to attempt to do too much with one setup and to double check all the roles actually function as intended.

The winning scumteam was: lufan131, Ankamius, 4nxi3ty

Saki Achiga-hen episode of side-A Mafia

Modded by: pienyan Type: Large Theme Length: 5 days, 200 pages Outcome: Town win

Comment: This was a lot more power heavy than the first Saki-game; major point of the setup was a 4-man scum team with a 1x dayvig in a 20p game vs. a high-power town, including a full vigilante and a set of masons with investigative abilities. The setup was designed so that a scum team that survived the early game would be able to carry to completion. However, the strongman got lynched D1, and from there, the rest of the scum team got #rekt by consecutive tracker guilties and the mason team surviving to N3. Most people judged it as town sided and there were mixed opinions on whether the setup was breakable via flavor (the most obvious explanation flavor-wise was the correct one, but I firmly believe people who stopped to consider the flavor in more depth would have realized this wouldn't necessarily be the case, and at least one person agrees with me on this. Regardless, I need to make sure this doesn't happen again in future games). The game itself was a giant spamfest which I probably would have not been able to follow at all had I been in the game.

Highlights include:

  • singersigner rolling vigilante, shortly after the TM15 Large Theme game where she destroyed the scum team as vig by shooting the most widely townread scum player. She ended up shooting town all game. o well ~
  • Chandra Nalaar getting two consecutive guilties as Ascetic Tracker, while WIFOM'ing the scum team into believing he couldn't be shot. Some people ended up pushing him as scum anyway near the end of the game, for reasons I won't ever understand.
  • Voidedmafia continuing to play the game after it was over - I had announced endgame and he had continued to catch up and post a bunch of catchup quote walls thinking the game was still going until he realized it was over. LOLOLOL Update: Voidedmafia won Kodak Moment 2015 for this.

The winning town was: Benjamin Applebaum (notscience + The Bulge), Gin and Sonic (Mac + Metal Sonic), ZZZX, Cabd, Elbirn, Profgessor Emotion (mastin2 + Ms Marangal), Sakura Hana, Voidedmafia, Bins, Bitmap, Wisdom, Nachomamma8, Chandra Nalaar, Skybird, Varsoon, singersigner

Mini 1704: Butterfly Mafia

Modded by: Rumia x Cirno (pienyan + GuyInFreezer) Type: Mini Theme Length: 5 days, 65 pages Outcome: Town win

Comment: Another GIF setup, this time with butterfly flavor. We ended up with a bunch of people we play with a lot signing up for the game which was p cool.

Highlights include:

  • The game took almost the full 3 weeks to fill, and was thus the only mini theme game running for a long while. mwahaha ~
  • Acutest Kitty (Plotinus and wgeurts) claiming scum and trolling on the last day when it became obvious they wouldn't win.

The winning town was: Annadog40, farside22, All Alone, sangres (fferyllt + Nachomamma8), Drama Queens (Ms Marangal + Tammy), Heartless (Antihero + TellTaleHeart), Cabd, JeanDarc, Veegee, Red Gyarados (Brian Skies + notscience)

NY 189 - Flower Viewing Festival

Modded by: pienyan Type: Large Normal Length: 8 days, 170 pages Outcome: Town win

Comment: This game was ran with 5-day deadlines; I hadn't seen a short deadline game in a while before this (coincidentally the Blitz queue was introduced shortly after this game started) and every single one I had seen was fun as hell. I made it a point to run it in the normal queue and kind of pushed the normal guidelines a lot, e.g. I included a Flower Vendor in the game rather than the usual Fruit Vendor which I was told might not pass depending on the review team but fortunately it did. ~ The game turned out to be somewhat vitriolic, with at least 3 people replacing out due to frustration. The setup was probably town sided - I included 3 masons and probably should have only put 2.

Highlights include:

  • Everyone getting into the spirit of the flavor of the game, particularly Shiro and Salamence20. Shiro posted an image she had photoshop'd of everyone's avis standing in a flower field, which continues to be one of the best things I've ever seen in a mafia game, and a bunch of people had a whole narrative built based around the flavor (princess Shiro vs. dark princess Sakura oo).
  • DrippingGoofball replacing in late game and essentially unilaterally solving the game with her scumputer, which I didn't get to see at all before this game.
  • Sakura Hana playing like a fucking goddess the whole game. In the end she only got caught in MYLO due to an ill-thought fakeclaim and general player POE at the end.

The winning town was: Bearbert D, Ricastle, Vedith, BananaCucho, AxleGreaser, Spiffeh, ika, I am Innocent, Flubbernugget, DrippingGoofball, Slandaar, Shiro, MarioManiac4, Echo Echo, Davsto

Mini 1735 - Mana Khemia: Mafia in Al-Revis

Modded by: Flay Gunnar (pienyan + Sakura Hana) Type: Mini Theme Length: 5 days, 81 pages Outcome: Mafia win

Comment: Sakura Hana + me collaboration. We had a lot of fun designing the setup, which had a fairly even split between roles I designed and roles she designed, and seemed wind up being fairly balanced despite being role madness. Titus ended up winning solo by playing a solid all-around game, in addition to everyone clearing her as town based on setup spec. The setup had a lot of scummy looking town roles (including a Weak Neighbor where the Weak was 100% useless...) and I think it was fairly unbreakable.

The winning scumteam was: Suzune, Antihero, Titus

Blitz 21 - Hope plus One ―kibou―

Modded by: pienyan Type: Blitz Length: 5 days, 104 pages Outcome: Town win

Comment: Hope + 1 setup. Town was off all game until when sometime on D4, all of the surviving town reversed their reads and slammed the scum team into the wall.

The winning town was: Ranger, Scatterplot (Ether + Plotinus), Antihero, Spiffeh, Wisdom, Titus, Mad King Ashnard (RadiantCowbells + Raskolnikov), Ankamius, PhantomCobalt, Gorkington

Mini 1808 - Yuri: the Purest Form of Love

Modded by: pienyan Type: Mini Theme Length: 5 days, 84 pages Outcome: Mafia win

Comment: True Love setup themed around yuri.

The winning scumteam was: Nahdia, The MM, SirCakez

NY 208 - Fireworks Festival

Modded by: pienyan Type: Large Normal Length: 6 days, 220 pages Outcome: Mafia win

Comment: I can't even describe this game as "a complete trainwreck" without risking contending myself for the biggest understatement of the year. Town lacked coordination the entire game, wasn't able to get their act together even when there was a period where the scum team bussed each other and most of the players had above-average reads, and then lynched a PR that should have been cleared due to the balance of the game. Moreover, there was a really toxic dispute Day 3 that led to one-almost-two replace outs and a warning that in hindsight should have been a force replacement. At the very least, the scum team played well (except for a few missteps - see below) and definitely deserved the win regardless of how bad of a trainwreck the rest of the game was. Another saving grace that I'm very thankful for was that somehow, there were an abundance of people who were, in fact, openly willing to replace into this mess on the many occasions I needed replacements.

Highlights include:

  • Shiro and AxleGreaser both scum slipping, the latter of whom did so in a way that also implicated Whiskers, and no one in the game reading carefully enough to spot either of them. In fact, those three slots were precisely the slots that survived to win the game.

The winning scumteam was: MathBlade, Transcend, AxleGreaser, Whiskers
