To night kill (frequently abbreviated as NK) is to remove a player from the game during the [[night]] cycle. Its use is almost exclusive to [[Scum]] groups, [[Vigilantes]] being one of the few town-aligned roles that have the ability. A night kill may be thought of as similar to [[lynching]] during the day.


Sometimes, pro-town [[roles]] may also have the ability to perform night kills, and there are additional roles which can modify the standard one-kill-per-night-per-[[faction]] expectation. [[Mafia]] are not always required to kill every night; [[Serial Killer]]s often are, as a result of their insanity [[flavor]] text.
Although factions and roles are generally limited to one night kill per night, this may not always be the case.
 
The term night kill is often abreviated as NK. Example: "I was NKed in my last game."
