Modkill

A kill caused by the Game Moderator, as opposed to a role within the game. This is almost always for some violation of the rules, although there have been cases where players have been killed simply for inactivity.

In the past, Mod Killing had no effect on the game other than the death of the player. However, it has been pointed out that this leads to a Breaking Strategy of having any Pro-Town player who is about to be lynched violate the rules to get himself killed, allowing the town multiple lynches in one day. Since then, Mod Kills during the day normally replace the lynch and end the day immediately.
