The name is made from four parts:

Miztef's real name is Jozef, when spoken, most people emphasize the "zef" part in order to show Jozef is not spelled joseph. This became the foundation of the name.
- Miztef
This name was made for fantasy games, and hence, had to have some part that is fantasy like. The idea of the name came from the Magic: The Gathering card called "Niv-Mizzet, The Firemind". It is Miztef's all-time favorite card, because Niv-Mizzet is an old and wise dragon with a quick temper and is very powerful. Miztef likes to think of himself this way.

Miztef has a fasination with mist. An extrodanry substance, you can feel it, see it, and be in it, but it's not really substantial. It reminds Miztef of Japan, a country he holds deep respect for. Sailor Mercury (Miztef's Favorite) used a power that looked like mist. Miztef loved the video game "Myst" and finally, mist is a combination of wind and water(His 2 favorite elements), in a gentle form(miztef is a pacifist).

The letter Z. It is at the end of the alphabet and is Mizef's favorite letter. It sounds cool, you can makes things plural and sound awesome by adding a z and the endz, and it symbolizes the end of something, which is the most important part. Notice the Z in all the formerly mentioned reasons, that was partly intentional.
