In my first game there was the talk of "oh, so-and-so usually does that as town" or something similar and my brain went "well I have to play in a way to never let THAT sort of read get established!  that seems like bad strategy"  and so I've been playing with that mentality forever.

Sometimes I decide how I'm going to come at a game before it starts and stick with it, sometimes I change my mind.

Yes, I'm still relatively new and learning more with each game and that brings about change, but I hope I never reach a point where I can become predictable.

history

  • I first discovered "mafia" in October 2015. With only the most basic concepts of the game down I jumped headfirst into an extremely complex game (day-missions + a pro-town sub-faction) with an exceptional group of mostly veteran players (some of them having played for over 10 years) and BAM, I was hooked. SO HOOKED! 4 days later I went to a party with a new friend and a handful of people at the party were like "let's play werewolf!" I was like "OHFUCK YES! I JUST DISCOVERED IT ONLINE!" They'd never heard of an online version! It was clear Werewolf was meant to be in my life.
I prefer the term "werewolf" but "mafia" comes out more naturally - I'm working on changing that.

my game

  • In my first game there was the talk of "oh, so-and-so usually does that as town" or something similar and my brain went "well I have to play in a way to never let THAT sort of read get established! that seems like bad strategy" and so I've been playing with that mentality forever.
  • Sometimes I decide how I'm going to come at a game before it starts and stick with it, sometimes I change my mind.

Sometimes I decide how I'm going to play based on familiarity with the player-list, sometimes I change my mind. Most times the game itself; flavor, playerlist, and overall "feel" of the game, determines for me how I approach the game.

  • Yes, I'm still relatively new and learning more with each game and that brings about change, but I hope I never reach a point where I can become predictable.
