Revision as of 15:47, 13 October 2011

DarthYoshi has been a member of MafiaScum.net since December 24, 2010. Why he decided, on Christmas Eve, to join a community that centers around a game of systematically eliminating players is beyond anybody's guess, but it probably says an awful lot about him anyways.

DarthYoshi is the creator of the Faith Plus One open setup.

He also answers to either "Darth" or "Yoshi," even though doing so doesn't express the full concept of the evil dinosaur.

Completed Games

Open 323: Murder at Happy Sunshine Hospital, moderated by Amrun. Vanilla Townie, lynched D5. Mafia won on D5.

Commentary: Somehow I get lynched whenever I make it to LyLo, regardless of my alignment...it happens again here after a fairly mediocre showing where the only scum town lynched came as a result of his fakeclaim being proven false. My own play was subpar, as I had a hard time calling any of the scumteam until the fakeclaimer got lynched. A great concept and flavor for a game, but the play in it was fairly unremarkable, which is sad.

Newbie 1133, moderated by Tasky. Participated as IC, Vanilla Townie, survived. Town won on D2.

Commentary: My third perfect town win on-site, and my first genuinely flawless win, as ConSpiracy, the town jailkeeper, successfully jailed Albert B. Rampage, the remaining scum goon, on N1. D1 was up-and-down until the scum rolecop needed to be replaced--his replacement was caught and lynched relatively quickly, and following the no-kill on N1, ABR resigned on D2. My own play was adequate, but not good--while I was on the successful D1 wagon and had put trial balloons out for a case on ABR, I did a poor job of communicating with the game's new players and was wagoned myself at one point. Along with my previous Newbie games--1100, 1064, 1059, and 1048--I was very fortunate to be playing with very talented SE/IC players.

Mini 1180, moderated by Substrike22. Vanilla Townie, survived. Town won on D3.

Commentary: My second perfect town win on-site was a long time in coming, as the other town win was my very first game here. I felt very good about my play in this game--I had made cases on 2/3's of the scumteam on D1, and had voted the third scum at a different point before D1 ended (in my #788 towards the end of D1, I basically called the entire scumteam with my suspect list). Town was helped by so many players playing obvtown games, as it made the scum stand out significantly, and the last scum getting copped on N2 was the final nail in the coffin. Great game.

Open 301: Friends and Enemies and Enemies, moderated by Chronopie. Werewolf, lynched D5. Town won on D5.

Commentary: Had a great scumbuddy for this game in Quilford, and despite the early obstacle of learning the masons had been given daytalk whilst we had not (thus unbalancing the setup), we managed to get half of the rival scum faction lynched on D2 before Quil himself was NKed. I took the game to LyLo before losing partly due to a rushed NK on my part, and partly due to town exploiting the timing of the NK to deduce that I was scum. I learned a lot about surviving LyLo as scum from this game.

Newbie 1100, moderated by Xtoxm. Participated as IC, Vanilla Townie, lynched D4. Mafia won on D4.

Commentary: My first game as an IC started relatively well, despite two town self-votes/hammers on D1 and D3 (much to my chagrin) because in between on D2, we managed to lynch scum after he fakeclaimed cop and was CC'ed by the real cop. I had pegged him as scum back on D1 but failed to get him lynched then, which sucked. D4 brought LyLo where the other townie voted for me, and I was quickly hammered by the remaining scum. I think the new players generally enjoyed my ICing, and for my part, I was extremely proud of how they played (the two players self-voting aside); the scumteam turned out to be the two SEs, which increased the degree of difficulty on the town, and the new players responded well.

Mini 1161: Neruzian Era Mafia, moderated by Neruz. Replaced in on D1. Vanilla Townie, survived. Town won on D4.

Commentary: I replaced in solely to get to play a game with Vi, who was unexpectedly playing a normal game. I had one scum pegged on D1, but hopped onto another wagon on D2 to lynch a different scum and forgot about my D1 scumread until Setael replaced in and basically called the remaining scumteam, which sadly happened to include Vi. My play was decent, but not great.

Mini 1146: Don't Get Slapped in the Face by a Fish Mafia, moderated by Chesskid3. Mafia Goon, lynched D2. Town won on D4.

Commentary: This game was not my shining hour. I was wagoned on D1, fakeclaimed doctor, and was lynched D2. The scum's degree of difficulty in this game rose with each replacement, as town-aligned VIs were flaking out and being replaced with extremely competent players. Probably my worst-played scumgame at MS to date.

Mini 1145: Plain Mafia, moderated by Fenhl and Zodiark13. Replaced in on D1. Vanilla Townie, night killed on N1. Mafia won on D5.

Commentary: Replaced in on D1 because I loved the playerlist (Valern, ICEninja, plus Quilford and Crazypianist replacing in made this a fun game), and played enough of an obvtown game to draw the N1 NK. Even though I hammered a D1 mislynch, I had put suspicion on two of the scum in the game, and that, combined with my drawing the NK, made me feel pretty good about my play in this game even though my faction lost in LyLo.

Open 298: Follow the Cop...or Not, moderated by CryMeARiver. Mafia Goon, lynched D3. Town won on D4.

Commentary: This turned out to be a clusterfuck after one of my scumbuddies accidentally let slip on D1 that the mod had given us daytalk (when that hadn't been disclosed in a presumably open setup), which then allowed the town to pick us off one by one by one. In spite of this, I felt good about my play in this game and thought I did a reasonable job of avoiding suspicion on D1 (only one player was convinced I was scum on D1) until the point of no return when the town could basically win through lynching by process of elimination.

Open 289: Hard Boiled, moderated by Implosion. Hider Tracker, night killed on N3, Mafia won on D4.

Commentary: The less that is said about this game, the better. Far and away the worst towngame I have ever played at MS. Even writing those two sentences of commentary was painful.

Newbie 1059, moderated by AGar, replaced in on D1. Vanilla Townie, night killed on N1, Mafia won on D4.

Commentary: Replaced in early on D1, tunneled hard on an SE player and got her lynched, only to have her flip town. I was subsequently NKed N1. Town lost after a protracted LyLo that was somewhat painful to watch.

Mini 1142: Quintessentially English Mafia, moderated by ChannelDelibird. Vanilla Townie, night killed on N1, Town won on D3.

Commentary: I managed a whopping total of four posts before a D1 quicklynch and was subsequently NKed N1. Not a whole lot to say about this game; I did the least to deserve this win out of all my MS victories.

Mini 1121: Nexusville Mafia, moderated by Nexus. Mafia Goon, survived, Mafia won on D4.

Commentary: Probably my most enjoyable game at MS off the top of my head--it helped that it was perfect win for my faction (albeit one aided by a couple fairly egregious town errors, including a D2 self-hammer and the town doc thinking he was actually a VT). But I also had great scumbuddies in neko2086 and Zdenek, and Nexus did a terrific job modding--roughly half of the playerlist replaced out during the course of D1, and he took it all in stride. This game also introduced me to a good mafia friend in ICEninja. A genuine highlight in my still-young MS career.

Newbie 1064: A Town Named Mafia, moderated by Parama. Vanilla Townie, survived, Town won on D3.

Commentary: A game made fun by an uncommonly good playerlist for a newbie game (Thor665 and Zorblag both played) as well by a good mod in Parama. After the typical D1 mislynch, I successfully pushed a scum lynch on D2, and with the scumbuddy being cop-investigated on N2, it became an open-and-shut game. An easy town win.

Newbie 1048, moderated by Alduskkel. Sane Town Cop, survived, Town won on D2.

Commentary: My first MS game had some serious fireworks. I was wagoned to L-1 early on D1 for rolefishing, but I recovered without having to claim, and town ended up lynching the scum roleblocker who had led my D1 wagon. Mastin replacing in at the end of D1 as the IC proved to be a boon for the town, as he had basically called the scumteam upon entering, and D2 ended with the lynch of the scum goon, sealing the perfect town win.

What People Say About the Evil Dinosaur (AKA My Ego On Parade)

"Scum were also hurting because a Zorblag replace in on town's side with Valern and Yoshi also on town's side was a pretty solid town center that was leaving them basically too many townies who needed to die." -Thor665

"Well played, DarthYoshi, good catch early on in D2 with CP." -Bulvious

“Come on man, I had lots of respect for you.” –ICENinja. This made my soul chortle, mostly because I was scum and ICE was the town cop. I gots mad mafia respect for ICE, though.

“I gave Yoshi way too much of a town cred this game, which is a bummer. You played fantastically.” -Ibid

“Good job to scum-team, especially Yoshi. Thought he was town the whole way through.” –KingTwelveSixteen

“DY played super well in my opinion. Best scum in the game.” -CryMeARiver

"Hats off to the stars of the game (IMO): Joho, Yoshi and Smally." -Withnail

"Round of applause to Yosh' our IC. I felt you did a great job as IC. I went into another game thinking IC's would be all very helpful, and discovered that some are rather useless. So cheers mate." -Draken

"Cheers to Yoshi too for IC'ing the game so well. I thought you walked the tightrope between playing and mentoring perfectly." -Smally

"We were a bit unlucky that the 2 strongest town players were mason lovers but luck of the draw I suppose." -Maxous, in reference to Thor665 and SubzeroSith (which is a hydra of me and ICEninja)

"DarthYoshi, there's very little I can suggest to you in terms of improving because you actually played a damn good game." -Regfan

"I liked playing with you DY. You're smart and have a good intuition without the ego that can only be the result of many past failures." -Albert B. Rampage
