Notes: I bludgeoned my way to an obvious scum lynch on day one. And of course it resulted in a less-than-admirable performance on days two and three (heck, day one would have been disastrous had we continued to pursue James.Denholm, resident doc and in hindsight much more pro-town than my absolutely idiotic meta gave him credit for). Still, it was an immensely informative introduction to Mafia, and a fun game in and of itself: suspenseful, well paced, and populated with intelligent players. Xtoxm, aligned mafia, played especially well as the IC, surviving to the endgame after losing his inexperienced teammate on day one. I luckier than I deserved when I correctly hammered him on day four.

Role: Vanilla townie.

Notes: Fast match, but extremely frustrating. We got an outrageously lucky day one lynch. The roleblocker's death meant we could follow the cop with ease: anticlimactic, but I was glad to get out of there. My short temper, which I failed miserably to contain, alienated just about the entire town to the point where people were building cases on my personality rather than my actions and ignoring my one correct scum read. Ultimately I felt that the town played poorly as a team; on an individual level, a lot of players seemed not to be interested in actually hunting for scum. On the upside, I thought NabakovNabakov (IC), Parhelic, and Tuberkulos all played very well.

Role: Town doctor turned cultist.

Notes: Existence of a cult that can recruit every night plus obscene amount of lurking equals town loss. Very frustrating, but it was interesting to see how a lot of my observations would have fit together perfectly if I'd realized there were so many cult members on day three. After one game of experience, it's official: I hate cults. I did catch one scum and caught on to Goatrevolt's case on another (before Goat turned cult), but getting recruited into the cult on the last night is a lame way to win. Lots of fun players survived right up until the endgame—Snow White (churned out town vibes with just about every word she posted, and seemed to be a step ahead of myself and the other remaining townies going into the last night), Goatrevolt (damn snake on all fronts), Hyl, CoCo (played his role perfectly), and Dry-fit.

Outcome: Mafia victory.

Role: Vanilla townie.

Notes: Days 1 and 2 were horrific. I bounced around way too much. I did peg one scum (StrangerCoug) and stick with him but wound up mis-lynching someone else because it was mostly a gut read. On day 2 a mafioso fake-claimed cop and got a townie lynched, and on day 3 we wagoned the hell out of him. I reverted to my original gut read on StrangerCoug, and in my mind the remaining scum boiled down to either Benmage or SpyreX, Ben logically and Spyre intuitively. Didn't matter, because I was night-killed. And of course on day 4 it became clear to me, but not to the three surviving townies, that Spyre was scum with Coug. By then, the evidence against Coug was heaping, but then one townie went briefly MIA, one was apparently inconsistent in describing his power role, and one pounced on those inconsistencies instead of on Coug. Painful to watch, but mafia team played very well, though, capitalizing on every error made by the town in the first two days. Coug and Spyre both looked very pro-town, and Bigmc109 made the best of the lousy situation he wound up in, buying his teammates two days in the process. My two correct scum reads (one on day 1, the other on day 3) were both intuitive. Truth: Either gut beats logic or I'm a complete idiot.
