A somewhat different role that is also often called Coroner is a role that appears in "no-reveal" games, which are games where people's roles and alignments are not revealed by the mod upon death.  In this variant, there is often a Coroner role, who can investigate people who are dead and find out what their [[role]] and [[alignment]] was.

One variant which turns up in two-mafia games is a combination janitor/coroner who learns what the other janitor hides, possibly justified in flavor by them sharing a dump site.
