Game Mechanics

Winning Pokemon

  • Before each round, a list of the Pokemon available for selection will be shown. All players will have 24 hours to submit a list showing their order of preference of those Pokemon. If a player fails to submit, a list will be randomized for them.
  • Pokemon will be given out in order of challenge performance on that round, with the highest ranking player receiving their highest ranked Pokemon that has not already been given out, and so on.
  • All Pokemon have been carefully distributed between rounds to make sense geographically and to make the game balanced. Please cherish all Pokemon you receive, and remember that every point in a challenge counts. No trading of Pokemon is allowed.
  • All Pokemon have been pre-determined to evolve at a certain point; most of this is by a certain level, but I assure you that all Pokemon will evolve at a time that makes it most balanced in the game.

Challenges

Challenges:

  • In most cases, rounds will alternate between individual and team-based. If a challenge breaks this rule, players will be notified in advance.
  • In individual challenge rounds, in most cases, the 2 highest ranking players will be assigned as team captains for the next round, and the 2 lowest ranking players will be sent into elimination.
  • In team challenge rounds, in most cases, team captains will have 24 hours to submit a list of the players remaining in the game ranked by preference; these will be used to determine the teams, with each captain receiving their highest ranking player that hasn't been taken, until no players remain. The captain of the team that wins the challenge will earn a Gym Badge, and has 24 hours to select two players from the losing team to send into elimination.

Elimination Battles

  • All elimination in this game will occur through Pokemon battles on Pokemon Showdown. Both players involved have 96 hours to find a time where they can both be online to battle. The loser of each battle is permanently eliminated from the game, and their Pokemon are removed from play. If a battle has not been carried out within this time frame, a mock battle will be conducted by me.
  • The only Pokemon allowed for use in battles are those received by players in the course of the game; no trading is allowed. All items, TM moves, and egg moves are fair game, but anything banned by Smogon will be banned in this game. For clarification on whether something is allowed, message me and I will notify you as soon as possible.
  • All Pokemon will have a set level for each round; this can be determined by 2 + 3(Round number).
  • The outcomes of all Elimination Battles are final.
  • To make sure the game does not go on forever, the round following the elimination battle will take place during the time when the elimination battle is being conducted. The winner of that elimination battle will therefore automatically have immunity for the round he didn't take part in, and receives a random Pokemon for that round.

Endgame

  • Once only three players remain in the game, a final challenge will be held. The winner of this challenge automatically advances to the Final Two, while the other two players have a battle for elimination. The winner of that battle then advances to the Final Two.
  • The winner of the game will then be decided in a series of three battles, with both players using only the Pokemon they obtained throughout the course of the game, and neither player being allowed to use any of their Pokemon in more than one battle. The first player to win two battles wins the title of Pokemon Master.
