A Neighborizer is a player who can target other players at Night to recruit them into a Neighborhood. They may begin speaking to each other at the end of the Night, or at the beginning of the next Night - it depends on whether the moderator allows the Neighbors to speak during the Day.

Neighborizers are most often pro-Town. They usually do not have any Neighbors at the beginning of the game.

Normal version

This role is allowed in Simple Normal games.

A Neighborizer without any Neighbors at the start of the game is considered Normal on mafiascum.net. Any players added to a Neighborhood are added at the start of the next day, regardless of whether the Neighborizer lives or not, and their Role Name is not changed.

Variations

A Masonizer or Mason Recruiter is a similar role for Masons. However, if a Masonizer targets someone who is not Town-aligned, the action will fail, and the Masonizer will also die in the process unless they are also Loyal. This is a particularly powerful role when used.

Use & Balance

A Neighborizer is a power role that allows a player to directly choose with whom they wish to be Neighbors. Based on the power of Neighbors, Neighborizer is thus a role that has low power on its own but can become very strong if the Neighborizer is adept at determining its Neighbors' alignments. Because the Neighborizer can choose its Neighbors, it is somewhat stronger than a set of Neighbors arbitrarily chosen at the beginning of the game.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Neighborizer" describes the action as follows:

  • As a targeted action: you will add that player to your neighborhood private topic. (edit)

Example (simplest form)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Neighborizer.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will add that player to your neighborhood private topic.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (with modifiers)

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Loud Neighborizer.

You have the following active ability:

  • Once in the game at Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will add that player to your neighborhood private topic. Your target will learn that you targeted them (but not what action you targeted them with).

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
