i would prefer to have the parameters explained under a separate header... that way, if someone wanted to use the template, they could just highlight & copy it from this page w/o having to type the full syntax, and also w/o having to delete the explanations of the variables...-- [[User:LyingBrian|Lying]][[User_talk:LyingBrian|Brian]] 02:49, 21 August 2007 (MDT)

is there any way to set up the template so that you can use or NOT use the variables?..

Can you sketch out an example of what you want? -- Mr. Flay 06:34, 20 August 2007 (MDT)
You have SEVEN parameters in this template. I strongly recommend using variables. SigmaEpsilon (talk) 12:11, 20 August 2007 (MDT)
Nevertheless, I changed the template so that you CAN enter the information directly, even without naming the variables. SigmaEpsilon (talk) 21:53, 20 August 2007 (MDT)

Is there a way for each role to have a pre-set colour, rather than someone having to find the RGB code for whatever colour themselves? Somestrangeflea 09:33, 20 August 2007 (MDT)

Pre-set colours would be convenient, but probably a pain to implement (though I'm not really sure .. I haven't looked at conditionals too closely in mediawiki). It might be nice to create a few boilerplate templates for commonly used colour codes. --YYCguy 11:18, 20 August 2007 (MDT)
With a minor change to the template, I can make it so you can just type "blue" or "red" and it will show up in that color. SigmaEpsilon (talk) 12:11, 20 August 2007 (MDT)
I just made {{rgb}} which turns a color name (e.g. blue) into a color code (e.g. #00a). This should make things easier. SigmaEpsilon (talk) 19:29, 20 August 2007 (MDT)
