A softclaim is a statement that hints at a player's own role without explicitly giving any information away. For instance, "I don't think you're going to lynch me Today" suggests that the speaker is a power role who can roleclaim if needs be, and therefore dissuade their wagon.

Softclaiming is not a particularly liked practice, as it gives the scum information about who is worth killing at Night while depriving the Town of the aspects of the role that are interesting to them.
