In general terms, a game has a Semi-open Setup if the Moderator has revealed some information about the game's setup, but not enough to make the game fully open.

In particular, it is often used to refer to games where the Moderator announces all the possible roles in the game, but without revealing which roles are actually in the game. Usually the Moderator will give an indication of the possible numbers of each role in the game.
