In instances where a game mechanic makes voting risky or useless, pseudovotes are used instead. These are simply unofficial votes that are not counted by the moderator, but kept up with by the players themselves.

Pseudovotes are commonly used to cope with scenarios like these:

  • LyLo - Rather than place votes directly and risk a quickhammer, players may opt to use these to try to determine a majority.
  • Instances where changing votes is penalized or disallowed
  • Kingmaker scenarios, when directing who the King should execute
