I'm a newcomer to Mafiascum, having happened across the site and signed up in October aught seven.
Most of my experience in Mafia comes from many years of playing it in person, and I've ran quite a number of games in that manner as well. I was a very evil mod, as I tended to approach those games with the intention of giving the players a complicated puzzle that they had to work together to figure out.
One of my prouder accomplishments modding was a large game with 16 players that took up an evening. 4 mafia, 4 townies, 4 cops (only one of which was sane, the other three received results determined by coin flip), 3 doctors (again, only one of whom was sane), and a single psychiatrist capable of determining sanity or insanity. Half the fun was just watching them try to piece together what I had done to them.
My style of play is usually rather open. I don't much like hiding things from the town without good cause, and I tend to say so. I'm a rather calm, serious player who never means anything personally. I'm not as analytical as I ought to be; having everyone's statements and voting record documented until the end of time is a power I've long yearned for during in-person games but one I have yet to learn to use. I've usually got some sort of plan bubbling away, though, just waiting for the right moment to make the ''coup de grace''.

**Day one I correctly identified two townies and both of the scum, albeit in two different scumpairs. Sadly, things went off the rails after that and I managed to get first the cop and then a townie lynched.

**Lesson learned: my meatspace mafia playstyle of bluster and loud ''j'accuse''s might have put people on the spot excellently in person but even when I do get the scum to panic in forum mafia they have plenty of time to collect themselves. I need to learn to play online far more subdued than I'm accustomed to.
