Death Rattle Mafia is an 14 player open setup conceived by pieceofpecanpie and designed with the help of AurorusVox in which there is a unique mechanic following night kills by the mafia team.

Setup

  • 11 Vengeful Enigma

(2xCop, 2xTracker, 2xGunsmith, 5xFruit Vendor)

  • 1 Mafia Rolecop
  • 1 Mafia 1-shot Roleblocker
  • 1 Mafia Investigation-Immune Goon

Mechanics

  • Nightstart
  • Mafia have day talk
  • Townie pool of 2 x Cop, 2 x Watcher, 2 x Gunsmith, 5 x Fruit Vendor
  • Townies are not told their role in their PM, they are only described as an Enigma
  • Yet, if they are killed at Night their ability is revealed to them and, in the throes of death, they can choose a player to use it on, this – and the result from the ability – is subsequently revealed to every living player the following game day
  • This means that Mafia must submit all their actions before a NK resolves and an Enigma’s role is revealed
  • In the case of a mislynch although the Enigma’s role is still revealed they are unable to use any abilities, they’re too choked up to speak

And introducing a mechanic called BLOODLUST, whereby a lack of lynching/killing has consequences:

  • If town No Lynch over consecutive Days and/or there are three (3) NL’s over the course of the game, then a living town Cop/Watcher/Gunsmith is transformed into a Fruit Vendor at random
  • If mafia do not Night Kill over consecutive Nights and/or there are three (3) non-NK’s over the course of the game, then an Enigma’s true role is revealed to them along with the option to use their ability immediately that Night, along with each subsequent Night.


Role PM's

Vengeful Enigma

  • Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Vengeful Enigma.

Abilities:

  • ENIGMA: Your true ability is shrouded in secrecy. Only when targeted by a successful NK will you, in the throes of death, become aware of your true ability and be able to use it posthumously. The result of which is shared to every living player the following game Day. eg. get NK’d > revealed as [Cop, Tracker, Gunsmith, Fruit Vendor] > choose to [investigate, track, investigate, give fruit to] “player x” > results shown the following Day In the event of a mislynch your true ability will still flip, however you will be unable to utilise said ability.

Win condition:

  • You win when all threats to town have been eliminated and there is at least one town player alive.


Mafia Rolecop

  • Welcome, [Player Name]. You are a Mafia Rolecop, along with your partners, [Player Name] and [Player Name], you comprise the scum team.

Abilities:

  • DAY TALK: At any time – Day and Night – you may communicate with your partners here [QuickTopic link].
  • FACTIONAL KILL: During each Night phase either you or your partners may perform a factional kill.
  • ROLECOP: During each Night phase you may individually investigate a player’s role, which will reveal their true ability. Only as the last living scum may you “rolecop” someone and perform the factional kill in the same Night.

Win condition:

  • You win when Mafia obtain a majority or nothing can prevent this from occurring.


Mafia 1-shot Roleblocker

  • Welcome, [Player Name]. You are a Mafia 1-shot Roleblocker, along with your partners, [Player Name] and [Player Name], you comprise the scum team.

Abilities:

  • DAY TALK: At any time – Day and Night – you may communicate with your partners here [QuickTopic link].
  • FACTIONAL KILL: During each Night phase either you or your partners may perform a factional kill.
  • ROLEBLOCK: On one occasion, during a Night phase, you may individually block another player’s ability in the game. You cannot “roleblock” someone and perform the factional kill in the same Night.

Win condition:

  • You win when Mafia obtain a majority or nothing can prevent this from occurring.


Mafia Investigation-Immune Goon

  • Welcome, [Player Name]. You are a Mafia Investigation-Immune Goon, along with your partners, [Player Name] and [Player Name], you comprise the scum team.

Abilities:

  • DAY TALK: At any time – Day and Night – you may communicate with your partners here [QuickTopic link].
  • FACTIONAL KILL: During each Night phase either you or your partners may perform a factional kill.
  • INVESTIGATION IMMUNITY: You investigate as “innocent” or “has no gun” to relevant town roles up until you perform a factional kill, at which point you will no longer have investigation immunity.

note: you are trackable at all times

Win condition:

  • You win when Mafia obtain a majority or nothing can prevent this from occurring.
